World of Warcraft: WTF
« on: January 31, 2009, 11:04:13 AM »
I just started playing on a private server to spend time with my son who is back in FL.

This has got to be the most redundant grind-fest ever.

People actually pay $15/month/account for this tripe and grind their way to level 80?

HOW TO PLAY:

"Collect X number of Y parts of creature Z." and repeat 12,835 times.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

WTF indeed! It's crack. Back away slowly. :-)
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.
-------------------------------------------------

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Hardly.

Addictions tend to have a modicum of pleasure to them. WoW is  just mind-numbing.

Oh I totally agree. My husband thinks otherwise ;-)

I just roll my eyes and be thankful we have two computers.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

Some people like the battles. That party can be understood, but the tedium of some of that stuff is just suicide-inducing.

I like sci-fi better than fantasy anyday

It's the interaction.  I loved the game cause I played with some cool people.  I stopped playing the game after I found out those people where douche bags.  The actual game itself really didn't mean much.

Only game I've played online was Combat Flight Simulator 3, and I didn't care about interacting with people, unless interacting meant blowing 'dem scumbag summamabitches outta the sky.  :evillaugh:

I'd rather play TF2.

And it's free, except for buying the game itself (hint: get the Orange Box).

Creepy.

You've never seen the episode?

For us Southpark fans that have been there since the beginning, their graphics have come a LOOOOONNNNGGGGGGGGG way.  :-)

That was a pretty funny episode. S/P is one of those "married sex" things -- it is great when I do it but I can't seem to get enthusiastic.

My Comcast HD DVR is full of nothing but Southpark...with the exception of about 4 movies.

MSB, your statement reminds me of a Star Trek TNG episode where the entire crew became addicted to some stupid assed video game.

Kev, Soutpark is OK, sometimes, but it's also mind numbing.....
