A New RNC Chairman: STEELE!

The final vote: Steele, 91, and SC GOP chairman Katon Dawson, 77.

Steele, 50, also defeated the incumbent RNC chairman, Mike Duncan, who withdrew earlier in the contest.

"As a little boy growing up in this town, this is awesome," Steele said, addressing members of the RNC. "It is with a great deal of humility and a sense of service that I accept and appreciate and thank all of you for the opportunity to serve as the next national chairman."

Steele, the first African American chairman of the RNC, serves as head of GOPAC. He is perhaps best known, however, for his regular appearances on FOX News.

I'm really happy that the RNC finally decided on a chairman and I'm really happy that it's Michael Steele. I'm sure at the DUmp, they're saying things like "sell-out", "uncle tom", the usual bigoted insults. They will probably also accuse Steele of being some kind of balance to Barack Hussein Obama, but Michael didn't have a white parent and was certainly born and raised in this country. For me, he's going to be a great RNC head not because of his color or nationality, but that he has the neccessary organizational ability and direction.

I'd say they're more than worried. They're all having to clean out their shorts and panties over this.

As someone else has posted: Steele, Jindal and Palin are a formidable crew, one the Dems, libs and lefties truly fear.

Think about how they'll attack Steele, Jindal and Palin, too: A black man, a first-generation Punjabi Indian-American and a white woman. A former lieutenant governor in Steele, a sitting governor and former U.S. representative in Jindal and a sitting governor in Palin.

What's coming from the DLLs, not just those at DU, should be entertaining as well as infuriating, racist, sexist and full of hatred.

Wow, I'm really glad that it's pretty much unanimous that we all are happy with Steele.

I've had Fox News going in the background at times while I was on the computer - my usual nightly thing like right now - so I'm not really watching just listening. And many times I've turned around and looked to see who that was I'd be hearing talking with such good sense. Time after time it would be Steele. That is about as color blind as you can get. He's an excellent choice!  

I"m feeling much better about our party these days. After the House Republicans stuck together and voted as one; and we are getting a great team in place as said above with Palin, Jindal and Steele. It's beginning to feel in the air like the fighting spirit of America is coming back to the GOP.
