Poll question: Most hated sports franchise
Every sport seems to have one team that everyone outside of the home city hates.
Which one do you dislike the most and why?
Mine is the Dallas Cowboys as many of you know. Because one they are rivals to my Skins, two, I hate the "America's Team" bullshit and don't even get me started on the hole in the Texas Stadium so "God could watch his favorite team"..
Poll result (24 votes)
Dallas Cowboys (10 votes, 42%)
NY Yankees (12 votes, 50%)
LA Lakers (1 votes, 4%)
Detroit Redwings (0 votes, 0%)
Duke Basketball (0 votes, 0%)
Notre Dame football (0 votes, 0%)
Other (1 votes, 4%)
Oh, I dunno.
I dislike any sports franchise that grows, and is nourished and sustained, in one place for years and years and years, and then moves somewhere else because it's cooler, trender, hipper.

1. For me it's the Montreal Canadiens.
The Stanley Cup has been around for almost a hundred years now, and the Habs have won 26% of them. My whole childhood was spent watching the Bruins lose to Montreal.

3. Boston Red Sox
Though the Denver Broncos are tied in a very close second with the Yankees followed by the Dallas Cowboys.
Cleveland fans will understand my selection of the Red Sox, Broncos and Yankees.
I dislike the Cowboys more than ever because they remind me of George Bush. It's weird, but they do.

6. I suspect the Angels fans might be starting to feel the same way about the Red Sox.

11. I don't think so...
Angels got Mo Vaughn from the Red Sox several years ago. He did great till
he hurt himself again. I used to love it when the Angels beat the Yankees in Yankee Stadium with a Timmy Salmon home run. I think the Angels biggest rivarly has always been the Texas Rangers and the Oakland A's. Both have knocked the Angels out of the playoffs for more years than they care to remember.

24. Since 1961, the Angels have been to the playoffs 8 times...and lost to the Red Sox in 4 of them, 3 times since 2004. I figured this would have stirred up more animosity among fans toward the Sox.
I like the Angels, they seem to have had the Yankees number for a while now.

12. Even The Raider fans hated the Raiders...
When they left Oakland moved down to the Los Angeles area. All the Oakland fans felt betrayed by Al Davis.
The good people of Oakland were betrayed.
They built and nourished and sustained the Raiders, and then Lost Angeles stole them.

23. I don't blame them.
Al Davis' heart is as black as a coal miner's ass. Evil incarnate--even Satan doesn't want anything to do with him.
No argument from franksolich here.

7. Obviously I hate the Cowgirls
anyone who cares about keeping the NFL relatively crime free, should join me in my dislike of the felons from Dallas.
I also hate the Dodgers, Lakers, Yankees and Manchester United.
Hmmm. One wonders what the uptown primitive has against the New York Yankees.

13. The greatest moment in 49er history was THE CATCH...
Montana to Clark which set the 49ERS on to their many Superbowl runs. And who was the catch against? Yeah, the Cowboys. Meh!!
Joe Montana was good.

9. Yankees without a doubt.
If they Cowboys are God's favorite team, Satan must have been laughing his ass of this season.
Oh man. The Howard Hughes primitive is just being stupid, and knows it. Disliking the New York Yankees is like disliking Mother Theresa, Santa Claus, Jane Addams, Eleanor Roosevelt, &c., &c., &c.; some people are so twisted they can't like nice guys.

10. It was close between the Cowboys and Yankees, but since I'm more a football fan than baseball, I chose Cowboys.
In addition, unlike the Cowboys, the Yankees have actually won in the postseason in the last decade.
The Cowboys get waayyyyy too much press and TV coverage for being mostly mediocre ever since Aikman retired.
Hmmm. Like 0bama, one suspects.

14. Not to mention being called AMERICA'S TEAM. ?? wth WAS THAT?? Like the other NFL teams weren't American enough? Meh..
I dunno.
Unlike baseball, where the New York Yankees are undeniably America's team, I suppose in football, it's sort of up in the air. I myself always considered the Pittsburgh Steelers to be America's team (in football), but that's just me; it's arguable.

In no particular order:
New York Skankees
Washington Redskins
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eaglets.
LA Lakers
On edit: I noted you snide comment about the hole in the roof. I'm sure it must have grated on you over the years how Joe Gibbs flaunted his religiosity!
No comment, because the terrapin primitive's just really retarded.

He never claimed that the Skins were "Gods favorite team".
And actually he was fairly good about not CONSTANTLY rubbing the religious schtick in actually.
Oh man. The anti-cboy4 primitive, the professorial primitive spittles his dribble, looking very much like the decrepit old Jr. from Vermont, Bernie Sanders:
