Oh, God loves me, he really does.  He just doesn't show it very much or very often...

Quote
Issued by The National Weather Service
Portland, ME

... WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING TO 3 AM EST THURSDAY...

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING TO 3 AM EST THURSDAY.

EXPECT A TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 10 TO 20 INCHES.

SNOW WILL START AROUND DAYBREAK... BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES LATE THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON. SNOW MAY BRIEFLY MIX WITH SLEET AT TIMES LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

However, on the good side of the news, at least I got my tax refund.  11 days from filing to money in the bank.  Finally, something going well!

Still at work, but it's up in the air for how long, given the deteriorating weather conditions.  There was a MA state trooper (lived in Boxford) who was killed last night on Route 1 just south of the MA/NH border responding to a call.  Prayers for his family.

We have sun and blue skies here.  Got a little dusting of snow but that was it.

We are spending 5 days in San Diego at the end of February and it cannot come soon enough. I have been perpetually cold since November and I LIVE for winter.  Seriously I am never so happy as when the trees dump and it cools off, but this year has been ridiculous.

Our school districts are scrambling because they are so in the hole for snow days already and here were are with another one today, and possibly one tomorrow.

Kids will be attending school on Saturdays and the Commissioner of Education just approved an hour banking program where schools can go extended days (.45 minutes = 1 unit, 8 units = one day) to bank time for future snow days.     At the rate we are going they will be in school 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. just to make the mandated 180 days prior to the new fiscal year starting July 1st.

We have a foot of snow dumping on us today.     I will be drinking pots of coffee today to maintain my sanity.     :bawl:

Well sh*t.  It went from rain to sleet to snow in about 5 mins.  It's snowing really hard now and it's sticking.   :banghead:

Yep--DG outage was supposed to start today.  Pushed back until the storm moves through.

We (Philly area) got our first snow day today. And it's due to turn to rain by noon.

Still dealing with the slick roads here. The temp. dropped down to 7 (coldest in several years) last night. Sun melt will help a lot today, but, refreeze is certain for tommorrow morning.

Not enough to shut things down here, would take 2-3 feet to do that or freezing rain.
I have a 4wd so no big deal driving in it.

Nothing falling from the skies right now, but we had snow all day yesterday, and freezing rain last night, and, of course, no school today.  Dance was changed again today, from 5-9 to 12-6, but it doesn't matter to me, 'cause my daughter went home from dance with a friend last night, and will be going back in with her today.

Mr Flame took my truck to work today, since it's 4 wheel drive, so even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be able to go anywhere.

It was 63 here this morning at 9am...and it's down to 56 now. We've been having heavy rain since about 9:30 and winds. I keep watching out my window wondering if/when a tree is going to fall.

We're supposed to be getting sleet/snow flurries by late afternoon.

The sleet/snow is about 45 minutes west and north of here and has been since yesterday.

Weird, weird weather.

Started cleaning my office and re-organizing it...that lasted about 45 minutes....decided playing on the computer is waaaaaaaaay more fun than what I should be doing.... :uhsure:

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

The snow here didn't last and the streets are clear.  Hopefully they will be dry before the temps take a nosedive this afternoon.  Otherwise we'll be skating home.

It's icy today.  Classes were canceled this morning.  I got a text message last night that 8am classes were canceled, so I set my alarm for 7 to check the 10am classes.  Well, I hadn't got a message by 7am and so my alarm was then set for 8am which I then slept through and woke up at 9:30, to see they sent a message at 8.  *phew*  I had an exam at 10am today too.

Anywho, then I headed into work.  My boss isn't here today. :yahoo:  Oh, and the receptionist isn't here, so I'm working the switchboard until later on.  Apparently they've tried calling her and she hasn't answered the phone, so I doubt she's showing up.

Clearing off and the temps are dropping...we're down into the low 30's.

We ended up with 6 inches by us. The light puffy snow.

I'll have to do some shoveling after work tonight but at least
the sun is out now!

I did shovel a path for the dawgs before I left this morning. It
seems last night a furkid really needed to go and decided not to
go outside in the snow but inside...in the bathroom...on the tile
in front of the sink.  :-) Now if they could have just used the toilet...

I'm freezing.  I don't think I could live where Schade lives.  When I get cold it is almost impossible to warm me up.  My feet and fingers are so cold right now.

My kids are home from school.  My husband left about 45 minutes ago for work because it was still icy and he has to go over a bridge that is notorious for being really icy (and the people here don't know how to drive worth a crap on ice or snow).  I have an eye doctor appointment at 2:45.  For awhile I was thinking it was getting better and probably gone but now I see floaters and I'm worried that the UVeitis is back again.  If it is I'm going to be SO pissed.

I have a co-worker that lives in Denton and made it here at 8:45am.  My boss lives in Lake Dallas and is using the bridge as an excuse to not come in.  LOL!

And I hope that damn UVeitis isn't coming back.  *hugs*

Good news/bad news:

--Good news--not quite as much snow as expected, although it's not going to stop totally for several more hours yet.

--Bad news--Sleet and freezing rain, and LOTS of it, meaning all of that is going to turn to friggin ICE.  Yay!
