Heading Out
« on: January 26, 2009, 01:14:12 PM »
The fam and I are headed out to Orlando to go soak up the sun and lounge around Disney World for the next week.  A week without politics and even less work sounds rather inviting to me right now.  We leave tomorrow night and will be the evening of the 3rd.

I may pop in from time to time since we will have our laptops with us.

But I'll probably be more of a creepy forum reader than anything else.  :-)

I'll miss you guys!  Sniff Sniff... :bawl:

Have fun! :-) I would kill to go back to Disney World and go have some fun.  I haven't been to a theme park in several years.  Animal Kingdom is my park of choice.

I'm flat out jealous!

I love Disney World when it's not 85+ degrees and 90% humidity.
Have a wonderful time, enjoy yourself, and go to Sea World if you have time....safe travels!!

If you go to Epcot Center, they have a really good Beatles imitation band in "England".
Also the English Pub there has a great gin.

That would be the Rose and Crown Pub.  I highly suggest you go there for the beer tasting, but only show up right before they start.  That way, they'll put you way in the back at a table meant for four with four cans of beer for "sampling", but nobody else will show up.

Ah, good times.

I'm also jealous.. We're waiting for a big winter storm to hit, probably late this afternoon or early evening. It's bitter cold here. I've never been to either of the Disney parks. One of these days we'll go, but not in the summer. SR says it's miserably hot then. Somehow in this bitter cold that doesn't sound all that bad.  :-)

Have a blast!  We just got back from our 3rd trip in 3 years.  I think we're going to do something different this coming year but we haven't decided.  We love Disney and their resorts down there are great.

We went during the summer in '06 and '07 which wasn't bad for us because south Texas is about the same in temp and humidity.  This last trip was in December so we could show the kids the Christmas lights and decorations.

Y'all enjoy and bring back a report.

It is....

Over the years, I've been 3x's in August and once in early November. November was lovely. The heat and humidity is almost unbearable in August....especially when standing in line for an hour with a hundred or more other extremely hot and sweaty people.    <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZN%2526i%253D36%252F36%255F11%255F1%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank">SmileyCentral.com" border="0

Say hello to that crappy little castle that they made look like Buckingham Palace on Wide World Of Disney when I was growing up and actually turned out to be the size of a Stucky's and made of sheet rock and lies and had a frigging RESTAURANT inside of it.

Not that I am permanantly bitter at having a childhood illusion shattered or anything. :(

Stand on the bridge between France and England and say "I see London, I see France..."

My kids LOVED it when I did that.

God alone suffices.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
