It's amazing, some young person respects you, looks up to you and admires your work enough to want to have a picture with you and you laugh in her face.

Our children's hospital was doing a benefit for the oncology department that was a golf outing. The main celebrity was Mario Lemieux and he was very gracious to all the kids. Some of the other celebrities, though were total assholes. The event raised around $1 million. When the chief oncologist heard that some of the celebrities were less than respectful to some of the children he was livid. He told the sponsor of the event "This will never, ever happen again. I don't care if your event raises $100 million. Those athletes should be begging for autographs and the right to be around those kids. The smallest and weakest of those children has more strength of character than all those celebrities put together".
I have heard of the same problem for some people who work for Make a Wish. They really try to discourage the kids from asking to meet certain celebrities because they have been assholes in the past. I can't even imagine that. A dying child thinks so much of you that their wish of a lifetime is to spend some time with you and you act like an ass.
