I never watched it until, last year, for my Birthday, a dear friend sent me the first two seasons.  Before I knew it I was buying the third and had the fourth on order at Amazon.  Sigh.

I'm thinking that the OP was an allusion to the show, 24....... The mathematical progression is off, though.
