or succeed so wildly. It is nearly frightening what is expected of Obama. I am afraid he will not be able to deliver what so many people seem to expect from him...and he will be undermined from within...I fear for where this is going...

Why the need to stamp out or discredit other DU'ers' disappointment in Obama?

Isn't that a bit like FReeperville where no one was allowed to say one critical thing, or be otherwise be disappointed with Bush in the least?

Just because you don't agree with someone else's disappointment or criticism doesn't mean you need to mock it or discredit it or act like it's heresy. If you do, ask yourself why it bothers you so much that others feel differently than you do.

It really is okay if we aren't all feeling the exact same way 100% of the time about Obama.

We are all still Democrats and in the final analysis, we all want Obama to do well.

Now who was it who thought that DU would run out of things to whine about?  :rotf:

Il Duce doesn't need a set-up.  He talks a big game, but when it comes to the rubber meeting the road, his real life experiences in the real world are a string of consistent failures.

There's more than enough ways for citizens to use his incompetence to their advantage, and those who do will succeed as individuals.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

He hasn't even taken office and they're making excuses for him alrady.

They knew he was an empty suit, a zero, a dud but they voted for him anyway.

Notice how DU has become a clearing house for Obama ineptitude excuses ? Face it DUmmy - your guy is an unknown quantity of an unknown substance. Once Prince Arugula falls from grace, even your excuses wont cushion him.

I am still willing to bet that a major (read Blue) U.S. city is attacked on the Bamsters watch.  I think this next one will make the WTC look like a walk in the park.

You're right.

And I have a $500 bet on it, to occur within two years.

I'm not God, and so it's not virtuous or kind of me to say so, but when it happens, I hope it takes out a lot of Democrats, liberals, and primitives, thinning them down, so as to make the world a better place.

I wonder if they'll be for the WOT, then?

Hope not, because the Bamster won't do a damn thing about it, except maybe fire some cruise missiles at a baby milk factory.

Are you offering insane odds on that bet BC?  That's about the only way I'd bet against you.

By the way, name me any major US city that hasn't gone to the Dark Side (read: blue)

I heard Rush say this back in July I believe.  I wonder what the DUmmie would say if he knew he and Rush shared the same thoughts.

Correction:

No presidential candidate has ever set up such high goals.

Hitler set up some pretty high goals too DUchebags.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Obama is the "Actor's Studio" president. He knows what it looks like to be president, he's seen the movies, he's seen the president in the news. But he doesn't know what it's like to actually be the president. Ever since he achieved his first political office, he's been playing a part. Now the buck stops with him, he's going to have actually do things and make decisions, there won't be anyone to pass it up to, and he's in over his head before he begins. He may actually have some real political leanings-I haven't decided about that--I can't decide if his primary allegiance is to race, socialism, or more cynically, to himself--I know it's not to America as most patriots have seen and now see it--but it's one thing to have concepts, no matter how sincerely you may have them, and another to implement them in a democracy. Assuming we remain a democratic republic, of course. In my opinion, that's not a given.

Not going to take that bet at all.  I feel the same way.

Assuming we remain a democratic republic, of course. In my opinion, that's not a given.

That's what scares me the most about him. He's SO arrogant, he believes completely his own hype and he hasn't got a clue what's in store. My God, he's trying to be the reincarnation of Lincoln one day and Roosevelt the next. His minions keep trying to dampen expectations, but until they can make the boy-king understand he can't even solve the riddle of the sphinx, let alone walk on water they might as well be pissing in the wind. It's like watching the Tim Burton version of a Greek tragedy. Obama definitely has Oedipus' gigantic ego, naivety, impetuousness, and especially his blindness. Which, unfortunately makes Rahm Antigone, since he's the one whose going to have to lead the blind, but without her reverence for the divine and the same lack of morals as Creon. I guess that makes Joe Ismene. I mean he pretty much goes along to get along too. At first I thought this could be McCain since he also lacks the courage of his convictions . But then I figured he was more like Polynices since he spends the bulk of his time fighting with his own "family". We get to be the chorus, narrators doomed to see this thing through to the bitter end. Unfortunately, we don't even have a seer to help determine our direction. But then, what do I know. I'm just a stupid right wing Christian woman without a thought in my head unless my husband puts it there. I don't even know if he's read Oedipus as I know he'd rather read Soldier of Fortune than Sophocles. Maybe I'm just confusing this with and episode of Green Hornet or Laverne and Shirley.
