Not as bad as yesterday, but pretty close.  Got down to -13 this morning (the idiots at Weather.com only predicted -2) and we just cracked 0.

Time to stay inside and get the snowblower ready for tomorrow.

A LITTLE warmer as far as those things go.

I am out most of today. Bi-monthly game day at a friends house wherein we eat a lot of good food and play table games.  Today is WWII naval miniatures. I'm skying out in about an hour or so and will be getting back in the wee hours.

We are going to drive an hour west of here tomorrow to meet a breeder and take a gander at a 10 week old golden retriever puppy, a little girl dog. :)  We all miss having a dog and decided it was time.

Stay warm today Cave Folk!  :cheersmate:

A 10 wk old golden retriever?  They are irresistable!  I'm sure you will be coming home tomorrow with more occupants in the car than when you left!

A tad warmer here, as well, today.  All the menfolk are off to a birthday party.  I got to miss out on this one, since my daughter is still at dance, and will need a ride home.  The family is great, but the mom/wife is a bit of a drama queen, and I'm just not up to dealing with the drama.

Already cleaned the living areas today, still need to run a couple loads of clothes through the washer, but other than that, I think I'll watch HGTV and see how horribly they re-do stuff.

Yay for puppies.  Golden Ret are fun but can be a ton of mess too.  LOL  Good luck with that!  I went through a puppy Mini schnauzer and a puppy great dane at the same time three years ago.  I said - NEVAH AGAIN!  LOL  But it was easier this time around because i insisted on crate training.

It is going to hit 40's today and that damn wind chill is no where to be found which is a very good thing!  Because of the snow we got the other day there sludge everywhere.  I'm so glad I didn't wash my car this week like I was going to.

I should be working or cleaning the house for fight night tonight.  Yeah, I'm ignoring that ATM.

Sun's out, and it's supposed to be in the mid 30's today. Rain is forecasted for tonight turning to iffy snow early morning and maybe again tomorrow night. It scares me when the weather person says "it's difficult to predict". When they say for sure it will snow, it doesn't. When they don't know what it's going to do...we can get hammered with the stuff. In a area that only plows the interstate, and lots of hills....that's not a good thing.

Going out later in search of a stainless shelving unit to match one that I bought back before Christmas for my laundry room, and checking out a new home store. Hitting Sam's and the grocery....good thing I don't need TP .....I know the shelves will be empty... :whatever:.

Why do people always buy lots of toilet paper when snow is forecast? Does one go to the bathroom more when snow is on the ground? Milk and bread, I understand....batteries, I understand.....but TP?
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

You need TP after eating all that bread and drinking all that milk?  Do snowbound people spend more time on the john?

I have to go to the bank later today.  Other than that, no plans.

I woke up late.  I've taken my shower and I'm about to get ready to head into work for a few hours.  I have to put in 3 hrs to make up for leaving early on Wednesday.  :(

Tonight - usual festivities at my friend's house.  I also have to hit up Target and pick up a birthday present (friend's son turned 4 on Tuesday and his birthday party is tomorrow).

Sitting here watching ESPN and having one of the portable 1500-watt heaters blow onto the carpet, where The Heiress depostied her stomach-full of milk this morning.  My wife was in full flail-mode and I had to pick our daughter up and bring her into the bathroom.  I called my brother and got his steam cleaner (he delivered it to us) to help with the cleaning.  Now, our daughter is sleeping in her crib and the rug is clean (where she yakked into it) and I've done six loads of laundry on top of that.

I picked up enough goodies to make four batches of split pea soup.  Man, this stuff is good.

My beef stew came out a little "warm".  Too much Adobo sauce... I should have used tomato paste instead, but I wanted to try something different.

Soup is good. I don't really care for peas, in fact, I hate the little green ****ers.  :-)

They almost don't taste like peas anymore.  The taste and texture (to me) is more like a nice potato soup, which is probably why I like it.  If it wasn't green, you'd never know.  And adding country ham to it kicks ass.

Ah, very nice, asdf.

We got Belle when she was 9 weeks old right on Memorial Day Weekend. Here's a pic on the day we picked her up:

When we got home:

Here's a more recent pic with her cradling one of her 465 stuffed animal "friends":

GRs are delightful, friendly, active, and a major PITA when they get to be about 8 months old (adolescence). But Belle is calming down day by day and is proving to be a wonderful addition to the family.

Eupher... she is gorgeous. I love Goldens, ours is plagued with skin allergies, but she is a lover nevertheless. You're right, the puppy phase lasts too long with that breed.

My brother's family got a golden doodle pup (GR x std poodle) .... omg satan.  :lmao:

Belle was actually not nearly as "bad" as we'd heard. They are a LOT of work, though. Gotta stay on your toes all the time because it takes nanoseconds for them to get into stuff they shouldn't get into.

A couple more of Belle:

My family had a golden named Gumbeaux (female, and Louisiana-bred all the way! ;) ).  She was oversized for her breed and gender (topped out around 120-125 pounds). Biggest lapdog you ever saw. :p    And of course, watch out for the tail, it was a WMB (Weapon of Mass Bruising).

She died a few years ago, after dealing with brain cancer (she was put down, out of respect and concern for her well-being).
