I saw them in LA. I LOVED "X" Well, still do. They were one of the quintessential LA punk bands that started the movement out there. I grew up in the LA area and I love their music. John Doe and Exeme. Yeah...those were good times going to those gigs.

Same here. For anyone not familiar with the early 80's punk scene in LA, I highly recommend the documentary "The Decline of Western Civilization". While it does miss a few of the bands which were part of the scene, it hits a LOT of the influential bands of the time/genre, including Black Flag, Circle Jerks, X, Germs, and Alice Bag Band.
BTW Tess--try going to 688 in Atlanta in the mid-80's. THAT was awesome (saw the Dead Kennedys there when I was going to school.) Ditto for Faith & Physics in Orlando, where I saw Jane's Addiction in the 1987-88 timeframe.
