Kim on Myles of Style also sucks..as does most of the "designers" on Design on a Dime.

I love Candace Olsen and David Bromstad.  The designers on the staging shows are pretty good too.

I LOVE Candace! I would give her the keys to my house and go on vacation for a month and tell her to "do whatever you want to whole place". She's that good in my eyes.

Speaking of crazy brides...anyone watch Say Yes to the Dress? There was one little princess who conned mommy and daddy into buying her ANOTHER dress that was like 23k because she didn't like the first one. I think it was around 10k. OMG.

I like some of those DIY shows or Monster house and the like. Some of the shows are totally unrealistic. I mean come on folks if you live in $200K house and spend $35K on a kitchen remodel you aren't going to get your money back when you sell. Sure you will have a nice overbuilt kitchen but thats about it. You will recoup some of your investment but comes a point where it's over built and anything above that is wasted money as far as ROI.

LMAO can you imagine?!?  In my in-laws guest bath they have a copper mixing bowel as their sink.  It actually looks really cool......when it's clean.  They have an old dresser that they made into a vanity.  The first time you use it it gets all spotty, by the end of the day it looks like shit.  You have to clean it with copper cleaner every day to keep it looking nice.  Just thinking of a whole stink or worse yet a toilet made out of copper makes me shudder.

I like "Design On A Dime" too.  There have been a few horror stories on that show.

There is some stuff you can put on copper that keeps it from tarnishing as bad & as quickly as usual. It turns it black,then you buff it out and it isn't quite as shiny as it was,almost but not quite. Dang I can't remember what it's called but it's been around for yrs & yrs. I used it on a project in shop in High school.

What gets me are the shows trying to get a house more marketable. They seem to vary drastically, with most of them dissing someone because they have too much color in their house and demanding that the homeowners make everything neutral (or all white). But what really gets me are the shows where the homeowner has done the old paint everything white routine and one of the real estate witches comes in and makes catty remarks about how non-imaginative the people are. Then they make the walls red or something. They should make up their collective minds.

And BEG, that stainless steel bathroom is dreadful. I have a stainless steel dishwasher and hate keeping it clean. I probably should have gotten white. The built in double ovens (were almost new when I moved here 3 years ago) are white. My refrigerator is white, as the dishwasher at the time was also white. SR likes ss, so I agreed to the dishwasher. I hate cleaning it.

My daughter, who moved from St. Louis almost two years ago, bought a house that had been "borrowed from" by thieves.....she had to buy all new appliances.

She bought her appliances at Lowe's.  They look like stainless steel, but they are really laminate.  They look great.

All my appliances are SS. I use a spray stuff called Stainless Steel Magic. I either got it at the grocery or at Dollar Tree, since those are the only 2 places other than Sam's that I buy cleaning stuff, and it's too small a bottle to have come from Sam's. It cleans and polishes.

For quick wipes, I buy these packets of Orange Wipes at the Dollar Tree. They work great on the all of them and don't streak. I have a 6 burner gas cook top, that the top is more shiny black,than stainless, and I use them to wipe the burner areas out too and even that doesn't streak.

I have an off white sofa and I hate it.  LOL

My goal for my kitchen, whenever I get to renovate it, is to have an eggplant paint on the walls.  New cabinets that are just stained wood, and a nice counter top.  And then have white appliances.  My kitchen is small, so I think having the white appliances will make the eggplant not seem so dark, but there's not much wall that would be that color anyways.  I would like to put tile down, but that would mean I'd have to put those concrete pads down (since I'm on a pier & beam), but I've been looking at that sticky fake tile vinyl and it looks nice.

That's the goal, hopefully one day it happens.  LOL
