I don't have a TV in my classroom!

Not only will the students miss it, so will I!

T.G. for C-span!

4. What about the internet?

I suspect there are multiple sites online where you can watch it live.

8. Oh yes, I absolutely plan to watch it on the internet.

The kids won't be able to see it though. We don't have smart boards.

I'm an itinerant. I certainly hope the homeroom teachers will show it. I will try to give the kids something to keep them busy while I catch as much as possible of the ceremony.

Actually, I'm praying for a snow day on the 20th so I can stay home and watch it on TV. If not, I will watch the re-run on C-Span if I have to stay up all night.

9. I am resource

I plan on having it on in my room and the kids can watch it during their time with me.

Uh, where's the American Civil Liberties Union when one needs them?

The dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher doesn't teach any subject remotely connected with history or politics, and besides, this smacks more of indoctrination than of education; coercing young children to participate in something not necessarily good for their health, mental or physical.

1. My guess is that there will be GOP leaning teachers who will bypass the inauguration.

Not much anyone can do about it.

We are having an interesting debate with her over whether we should watch it in class or not. Hence, this poll.

2. Arrange for someone to bring a TV to your class, it cannot be that hard to do.

6. No way would I not turn it on

It's historic.

One wonders if the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher also had the classroom television on for the inaugurations of 2001 and 2005; those too were historic.

3. I have a TV and I'm turning it on.

It has nothing to do with my class, and I'm not stopping other activities (my students are usually working on projects), but I am *not* missing history as it happens, nor causing them to.

7. I am going to find it online and put it on the projector

Or I could turn on my TV. But yes, it will be on in my room.

10. I'm taking the day off to watch it myself and drink my champagne. I don't want to miss a moment of it.

I will give the sub the option of watching the inaguration...it isn't my subject area but it's so important I don't care what the bosses say. I don't think they'll care actually.

I've got a laptop and a projector, so if I can get a decent streaming video, I will show it to my students!

16. All the school systems in our area are taking the day off for the inauguration.

Of course, this is the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Ours is Montgomery County, Maryland, just north of DC, the last to decide to take it off, because so many teachers and students would not be there anyways.

Going to show how old I am here but back in the Apollo days it was usual to have the one school TV in the cafeteria and any teachers that wanted to bring the class in to watch the moon landings could.

Now of course every classroom has one by the sounds (wonder how we ever learned anything back then without computers and such in the classrooms  :whatever:) so that would change but I have no issue with allowing students to see any Presidential swearing in ceremony.
It is part of our history and having an idea of our heritage as a Nation makes for better citizens.
Probably one of the reasons the left doesn`t like teaching American history except as is needed to put the country down.

Now if it is done in this case as a fawning worship of O rather then a civics lesson then I would have a problem with that.

Yes I do know what it will be but can always hope.

Hmmmmmm, wonder if P2BL's principal knows that she calls her a "repuke."  What's the name of that school anyway?

I'm sure that P2BL's principal will make her decision based upon a poll at the DUmp.

You know, it's really stupid and immature, given the Great Age (56 years) of the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher, to use language like that.  It surely doesn't make her look good, and the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher is in desperate need of something, anything, to look good.

I remember watching Inagurations when I was in school, and I remember the teacher bringing in/turning on a TV when Reagan was shot so we could watch the news.

I don't have a problem with them watching an Inauguration, as long as it is presented as a historical/governmental process, not an Obamalovefest

That's my concern here; the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher's going to turn it into an 0bamalovefest.

I'll bet she didn't do that for the 2001 and 2005 inaugurals.

It actually would make sense for a social studies or government class, and it honestly is just a historic occasion in general.  Seems to me it would be a legitimate use of school time, to be honest, displeased though I am at the outcome of the election.

Notice that for the most part we seem to agree on the principle of this as educational and instructive regardless that we aren`t happy with the President being  sworn in.

Does anyone think that DUmmies would be saying the same if it was McCain being sworn in?

Hell, I still wanna know if the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher had the inaugurations of 2001 and 2005 beamed into her classroom, too.

She may have but I'm sure she editorialized through the whole thing and took the opportunity to describe how republicans steal elections.

Damn right!  This could be the one and only time in history when a Kenyan-born half-white/half-black big-earred practically illiterate phony-ass socialist puppet will be sworn in as President of the United States of America.

It should be on a perpetual film loop in Times Square for the next fifty years.

Well, it might be "historic", the worst, most clueless, vendictive President since Andrew Jackson is about to take office.
