Patient Kills Las Vegas Doctor
« on: January 13, 2009, 08:35:32 AM »

A Las Vegas doctor was murdered in her office Monday morning and Metro detectives are trying to figure out why she was killed.

"Oh my God, please tell me no," sobbed the adult son of Dr. Edna Makabenta after he learned of his mother's murder.

The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. at Dr. Makabenta's office located near Charleston and Rancho. Police say the gunman, 80-year-old Eliseo Santos, walked into an exam room and shot Dr. Makabenta in the head and then turned the gun on himself. He later died at UMC.

Another patient, Cynthia Marshall, told Eyewitness News, that Makabenta was a special doctor who was never too busy to spend time talking with her patients. "I just trusted her with my life," she said.

I'm sure there must be quite the backstory to that...assuming the 80-year-old guy actually went to the office he started out for, of course...

Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting at least twice.

She was the shooter's doctor. The doctor was only 49, so sad.

Grissom leaves and the killers go wild(er) !
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.
