Police: Wife drugged husband's pie

PANAMA CITY - A Panama City woman made her husband one strong dessert, Panama City police said this week.

April Evans sprinkled a chocolate pie with drugs and then fed a slice to her husband in "an erotic manner," according to an arrest affidavit.

On Tuesday night, Evans, 30, of 800 Pinecrest Ave., crushed four pills - one Xanax, two Valium and an Ambien - and then sprinkled them on a pie for her husband, Jeffery, authorities said. The sweet treat put Jeffery Evans into a deep sleep, and while her husband was dozing in the bed, April Evans went to sleep on the couch, officials said.

But on Wednesday, April Evans told a family member about the incident and the information got back to her husband, law enforcement officials said. Jeffery Evans then called the police and the paramedics, officials said.

April Evans told investigators that she just wanted to knock her husband out so she could get some sleep in another room, said Capt. Mark Aviles. She added she was not trying to kill her husband.
