BERLIN – Germany's foreign minister says he cannot remember so much hope and confidence being generated by an incoming U.S. president.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier has offered his country's support for the incoming U.S. administration in an open letter to Barack Obama.
He says Germany is prepared to help Obama with the multitude of challenges he faces, including the closure of Guantanamo Bay detention center, rebuilding in Iraq, addressing the global financial crisis and fighting climate change.
Steinmeier says that the two countries should "work together in order to fashion a common future."
The letter is to be published in this week's Der Spiegel magazine and was provided in advance to The Associated Press. The Foreign Ministry confirmed the comments
Krauts must think they've got another lame duck on their hands that they can mold into a good little puppet.

9. Germans, and I think by and large most Europeans,
recognize a higher consciousness in Obama. They see in him and his administration a last chance for the US to redeem itself internationally.
Let's make sure that we contribute our share in seizing the opportunity inherent in our national crisis.
A higher consciousness...
Boy is this DUmmie in for a hard 4 years.

10. The goodwill you engender
just by not sending over a gladhanding idiot who molests their Chancellor. It's almost like magic. Why didn't we think of that sooner?
The "good will you engender" by being a fawning sycophant to a collection of has-been nations, is not what you really want.

12. Frank-Walter Steinmeier please call for the arrest of the war criminals
Please!
By all means... Call until your throat is hoarse. Won't do a lick of good until you can come up with some actual, yanno , crimes. Keep reaching for that rainbow though.
