What song do you have stuck in your head right now?
« on: January 07, 2009, 08:07:43 AM »
O.P.P. by Naughty By Nature.  It is an anthem for low lifes but that song has stood the test of time and still absolutely rocks after 20+ years.
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Dancing Queen. The wife and I watched the epic fail of a movie Mama Mia.

Yeah, kinda surprising that Meryl Streep got caught up into that. I guess she's a closet dancer.

A movie Musical with Abba as the main music should have been enough of a clue. Granted the Actors in it may have been an enticement but come on, Abba  :evillaugh:

Put it this way, my wife is a "chick flick" addict, and even she raised an eyebrow. (she loves ABBA, BTW  :thatsright:)

Hate to say it, but I think Dwight Yokham's version of that song is better.

"Can't you See that's she's Mine?"   by the Dave Clark Five.

Heard it on the oldies station here locally.     Very good uptempo tune.

Daughtry sang "suspicious minds" on the night he was voted off American Idol.  I thought he did a great job with that song.

So, you'll be removing Julia Roberts also, right?

If I can't remove all memories of Yoakum from her head, uh-huh.  It's a (damned) small sacrifice to make for the security fo my realm, but it's a necessary one.

I think I'll have to eliminate Vince Gill too.  I can't say with certainty that Yoakum doesn't swing "that way" on occasion, and Vince is almost as effeminate as the Whiner; he probably pitched while the Whiner caught at some point.
