I ran my truck up to 105 on an empty highway in Montana just to see what it felt like going that fast. I blew past some county cop sitting in a pull off behind shrubs and then spent the next couple of minutes going "shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!!!!!!" as I braked down. He didn't pull out and for the next 25 miles I'm trying to figure out WTH?!. :-)

It turns out that unless you are rolling backwards, naked and pitching beer cans out the window they really don't give a rat's rear how fast you are going.

I wasn't going 105, but was doing 95-100 out in Utah in the middle of nowhere. There were no cops around anywhere. I didn't mean to go that fast, but all I can say is I put my old Bimmer wagon to the test.  :-) I don't do that around here. Have to admit it was fun, but don't think I'd do it again.

If you call, ask if they can make arrangements to lessen your fine or punishment if you take one of those safety classes. Just be nice (which I know you are) and ask them for some guidance. I'll just bet they'll help.

They're used to some real creeps. I had to sit through a whole session, hours, one time. I had been parked in a supermarket parking lot and the handicapped (time of my knee surgery) sign had fallen down. I got a ticket for parking in a handicapped space. I called the city hall of the stupid little burb and they said tough luck, I'd have to come to court. They had me the last one (just for meanness as the city clerk was really nasty). I had to show the handicapped sign and the judge dismissed. But I got an eyeful. Many of the people were guys who had a real attitude. And it just made the judge have a worse attitude (not a good thing for the dumbies).

I did some more research on the probate court that I have to attend.  The judge is a woman, so who knows, might be a good thing.  Then again, some female judges, or so I'm told, can be a lot worse than the men.  :o

Then I won't admit what I did one fine weekend going out to Lost Wages between Barstow and Baker on I-15.  Let's just say the governor on a Mercedes C-Class is way, WAY up there, if it exists.

Saturdays must be a real fun time at the local CATV channel.  You've got The Bat Poet, which is some fat guy in a t-shirt and a Michael Keaton-era Batman mask (with the giant ears), followed by 'Left Side Of The Dial'.  Predictable pile of liberal garbage, it's like the entire Zombietime.com site rolled up into a poorly-produced half hour show.  After a toothless Indian got done ranting about the Evil White Man, some Little Mary Fruitcake fed his cat popcorn for five minutes.  I'm not entirely sure, but I think that was one of my supervisors from work.  Ick.  C-SPAN ran some garbage seminar about the Bush administration given by the Brookings Institute.  I actually heard a grown man use the term "Bushies" as an insult.  The other CSPAN channel wasn't any better.  It was a "memorial" to Studs Terkel that looked more like some hippy wank-fest.

I knew there was a reason I stopped watching television.
