Satyrday!
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:03:34 PM »
Happy Satyr-Day!

Hit the range and piled up a lot of .45 and 9mm brass at my feet! Happiness is.

I have to get some more practice in before Wednesday because I sart shooting competitively again Wed night.

Gonna have some pizza with my mancub and watch some tv here for a while.  Inclimate weather headed at us starting this afternoon. Ice and freezing rain.  :p

Spent the day digging the garden ready for spring and in case I buy something at the flower market tomorrow; and continuing with the great decluttering and tidying project.

I'm wearing shorts today and its about 60 outside!

My laundry is done. I had quite an assortment of loads, including some blankets, so I went to the laundry facility owned by the former Hollywood madam.

That sort of fits with today's theme.  :-)

Today sucked for me too, but y'all already knew that. :(

I got my paycheck, at least.  *sighs*

I get to sleep in tomorrow, so I'll be doing a lot of research this evening to get an idea of what kind of fine I'll end up with.

Meh, not as well as I'd like at this point.  I'm really scared right now.  I have never been to court before, so this is all new and I'm so frickin' clueless and ashamed of myself.

Don't have a clue as to why a lovely young woman like you would have to go to court, but I'm sure you'll do fine.

Took the dogs for their nail trim today. It was the first time they were in our new car (other than at the dealership). We put down a dog blanket and a soft comforter. They loved the car and settled down fairly well. The new car is so much smaller than the other one, but they fit into the smaller wagon nicely.

Then SR went to the Mo Botanical Garden with me in the afternoon, under protest. Tomorrow is the last day of their Christmas show. I loved it---Winter in Vermont. They had I don't know how many sets of trains going around in a beautiful setting----one of the best train layouts I've seen in years, combined with beautiful flowers. SR grumbled, but I think he enjoyed the trains.

That's not so bad. In this area an attorney could probably get that changed to a non-moving violation, but laws vary from state to state.

If you go to court, will you be represented by an attorney, who can play let's make a deal or doing it yourself?

Perhaps, since it's your first offense, you or your attorney could bring that up with the judge. I'm sure you're very contrite. Maybe you could get off with going to a traffic class or something like that. Be sure to try to keep the points off your license, so your insurance won't go up.

Georgia's a tough state when it comes to traffic laws.  I should probably be glad I wasn't in Georgia's most infamous speed trap when it happened (Laurens' County, GA.  I wouldn't recommend going over 70 in that location.  I haven't been caught there, but friends have been... traffic court there is hell on earth, supposedly).

Can't afford an attorney, so I'd be doing it on my own.  I'll check with the court on Wednesday or Thursday to find out the fine first, then I'll make my decision on fighting the charge (which I probably will do, if the fine is over a certain amount).

Maybe Mazda should reconsider its Zoom Zoom campaign.  They're making us Mazda owners (especially 3 and 6 owners) do bad things. :p  :lmao:  (friend has a 3 and got pulled over last year for a 95 mph stunt on I-16.  He deserved it. :asssmack:).

Okay, so who's drinking what here?

Just broke down and got a blender, so today I got a bottle of Kahlua Mudslides to break it in.

Mmmmmm...the frothy cold goodness.

I have some wine chilling right now, so I'll be having a Riesling later on.  :)

My first (and fastest) speeding ticket was 82 in a 55.  I think I may have had one or two since then, but they were a little more understated.

And there was the time I passed a State Trooper doing 140+.  I'm glad he was on the other side of the concrete barrier/median and facing in the other direction or I'd probably still be in jail.  Both times with the same motorcycle, and I lose the damn bike in a 40-mph collision because some ass was too impatient to wait for his red light to turn green.  Feh.

Si.

The human body starts to do funny things at 100 miles an hour.  110, and its like hitting warp speed.  I have no idea how I managed to get it up to 140, but I did.  Probably won't ever do it again, but it was an experience.

I ran my truck up to 105 on an empty highway in Montana just to see what it felt like going that fast. I blew past some county cop sitting in a pull off behind shrubs and then spent the next couple of minutes going "shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!!!!!!" as I braked down. He didn't pull out and for the next 25 miles I'm trying to figure out WTH?!. :-)

It turns out that unless you are rolling backwards, naked and pitching beer cans out the window they really don't give a rat's rear how fast you are going.

If you call, ask if they can make arrangements to lessen your fine or punishment if you take one of those safety classes. Just be nice (which I know you are) and ask them for some guidance. I'll just bet they'll help.

They're used to some real creeps. I had to sit through a whole session, hours, one time. I had been parked in a supermarket parking lot and the handicapped (time of my knee surgery) sign had fallen down. I got a ticket for parking in a handicapped space. I called the city hall of the stupid little burb and they said tough luck, I'd have to come to court. They had me the last one (just for meanness as the city clerk was really nasty). I had to show the handicapped sign and the judge dismissed. But I got an eyeful. Many of the people were guys who had a real attitude. And it just made the judge have a worse attitude (not a good thing for the dumbies).
