New Year's resolutions, anybody?
« on: December 31, 2008, 06:22:26 AM »
I was getting ready to run to town to get a package of cigarettes, when it struck me that here it is, circa 6:30 a.m. central time, January 31, 2008, and I hadn't even ever THOUGHT about making any New Year's resolutions.

Anybody make any of theirs yet?

Thought about it, yeah.  Will I make any?  Hard to say, really, but I know some goals I'd like to accomplish in 2009.

Sadly the little gym run by the two young physical therapists failed and had to close, I'm resolving to be motivated enough to use our little mini-circuit and gym we've set up in our basement. My friends were greyt cheerleaders with all the little motivational goals set. Now I have to do it on my own.

I'm trying to get all motivated--although the bitter cold weather at the moment isn't helping--so as to leave late this afternoon or early this evening.

And then I'll be back sometime on Friday, January 2nd.

Not resolutions, per se, but goals.  I want to get the basement finished, and I want to get my backyard squared away.  Hoping to do the first before nice weather arrives, and the 2nd, after!

Finally laid down the cigarettes 10 weeks ago and counting.  So far, so good and I really think I am 'over the hump' as far as wanting one goes.

My resolution for the new year......get rid of some of the excess, unused vehicles we have.

I don't make resolutions, they're destined to fail.  I always have my life's To Do list and I'll continue to work on that.

I resolve to not make any resolutions again this year. I try to set goals in the spring and fall when the weather is nicer and school starts back because I look at that time of year as a "beginning".
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I resolve...I RESOLVE...to get over my months-long aversion to water and take a shower.  I resolve, in the future, to use deodorant on a semi-daily basis.  I resolve to make my underwear a more frequent presence in the hamper.  I resolve to give up the pleasure of scratching an itch for the joy of fresh cotton.  Lord only knows why these are good things.

To procrastinate less....

Rearrange my office....since I've been thinking about it for 6 months....

Go through the closets and donate, donate, donate!!!

Be a better person.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Dieting and health.

Maybe smoking next year if things go well.

none...already been working on long term goals, but I will get a good laugh at how much the gym will pick up over the next month.  :-) Hopefully one or two of those who start will still be there this time next year. It's well worth it and I know I keep sounding like a broken record on that, but it is.

My New Year's resolution is to find a man that respects me enough that when he's pissed off doesn't just hang up the phone.
