Do you have a favorite forum on Skins's island?
As we've all learned since December 30, 2007, the day conservativecave was founded, Skins's island has lots and lots and lots of different forums, covering all sorts of interests and activities of the primitives.
I had hung around Skins's island since late January, early February, 2001, but never paid attention to forums other than "General Discussion." I have no idea why; I just never went beyond that, until we all came over here to conservativecave.
I was aware other forums existed, but ignored them.
Actually, it's always looked to me as if the primitives have the same mind-set; it's hip, it's cool, it's trendy, it's with it, to hang around "General Discussion" with all the right people, and to be seen there.
Since conservativecave was founded one year ago today, I've been hopping and leaping and jumping all over Skins's island, visiting all the hitherto-ignored forums.
It's gotten to where there's some days I don't bother with "General Discussion" at all.
I don't have a favorite forum, but I do tend to intrude in on the rural forum, the frugal living forum, the cooking forum, the do-it-yourself forum, whenever I need to take a break from the unceasing ceaseless unrelenting relentless rock-hard Hate of the primitives in "General Discussion."
The primitives in these minor forums are still primitives, of course, but a tad bit softer, and hence a tad bit easier to take.
I had high hopes upon discovering the automotive and deaf-and-hard-of-hearing forums, but those hopes are pretty much evaporated now; one has to battle killer-cobwebs when going those places, because they're so empty and neglected.
This by the way provokes an interesting question; my fellow alum Skins appears to be very accomodateful of disabilites, hypochondrial and real, of primitives, but there's groups Skins seems to be ignoring. There's no forum for blind primitives, no forum for non-English-speaking primitives, no forum for illiterate primitives.
One wonders what's up with that.
I purposely stay out of the gay forum, unless I happen to follow the cboy4 primitive there, because it's all so silly and shallow and vacuous and devoid of any importance in the Greater Matters of Humanity.
I'm always queasy about venturing into the mental-health forums, because not being a medical, psychiatric, or psychological professional, I don't have the wisdom to discern between authentically mentally-ill primitives, and hypochondrial primitives who only "think" they have a problem, or they do have a problem but aren't really interested in solving it.
One shouldn't mess with the former, while the latter is fair game.
I think, so as to avoid potential future liability, Skins should demand a note--a real piece of paper, not an internet creation--from a physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist giving mentally-ill, or "mentally-ill," primitives their permission to post on the internet.
As we all know, there is NO physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist who thinks it's "okay" for the mentally-ill to spout off their furies and incoherencies on the internet.
My fellow alum of course is not responsible for the contents of individual posts, but I sort of see down the road, that someone somewhere is going to make a court case out of it, alleging that Skins aided and abetted some primitive in exacerbating his condition, by allowing that primitive to post when Skins in fact knew that the primitive was severely disturbed, not a competent mind.
I dunno how this happens, but I just sense there might be trouble ahead, and so my fellow alum should cover himself, with those notes from physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists.
Anyway. Do you have a favorite forum on Skins's island?
