I'll be on the road for 2 and a half hours to Jacksonville after I leave work at 8.  I'll try to check in after I get there, otherwise, I'll be going straight to bed.

I made it here safe and sound, and had a tasty dinner of roast beef, ham, and cheddar on a hoagie roll, complimented by eggnog spiked with my new best friend, Bacardi.  :p :lmao:

I forgot my pjs, so I'm sitting here in a Jaguars jersey that's too big.   :uhsure:  (I'm supposed to be a Saints fan, but I needed SOMETHING to wear... plus, I've got to make my grandma happy  :p )

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone here. It's the first one without dad and we started everything off with a poem about a fathers passing away at Christmas and a toast to him.

One thing I want to share with everyone here is a story about how one day when my dad was still working full time in the Guard he got a huge box of candy sent to him. When I say huge I mean 800 pounds of it. To this day we have no idea who it was that sent it. The delivery guy insisted it was meant to be delivered to him at the National Guard Armory, all 800 pounds of it. Well after while Dad had to do something with all that candy and he ended giving most of it up to the city to be used at Home Coming and Christmas time when Santa would come around and let us ride a train so we could all tell him what we wanted for Christmas and he would have something to give to the kids as they left. 

I wish I knew who bought that much candy to be sent for what seems to have been a joke on dad but in the end the kids in town benefitted and everyone else had a good laugh about it but we never found out who did it.

Merry Christmas to all at CC..... I had the boy unwrap a couple gift this evening, and he was just as happy to play with the paper he ripped off the boxes, but it warmed my heart to see him in his first Christmas.
