Eupher, to reiterate what Sparky said, they've been in vehicles for a while. There was a push to have them log more than the last five minutes of data back a few years ago.

Wow. I had no idea. Learn something new every day.

You know, if we didn't have so many freakin' lawyers in this country, would we need these damned black boxes? I don't like the idea of Big Brother watching over me, or having some kind of machine track my every (well, okay, LAST 5 MINUTES) move.

Anyway, back to the thread.

the witness stated that she changed lanes, correct?  she admitted to being intoxicated?  speeding?this reasonable person says she is at fault.

here's some tort reform that i think a lot of people would support.  you get injured in the commission of a crime, or by the police while trying to get away from a crime it can be proven you committed, any lawsuit you file for your injury is automatically adjudicated as "plaintiff loses".  that and loser pays would cut down on a lot of this kind of  :bs:

I'm really not surprised.  When Cardinal pitcher Josh Hancock was killed while DUI, his father sued the tow truck driver that Hancock rear ended. The truck was stopped and had it's lights on. Of course his dad sued almost everyone, but Busch and the Cardinals. At that time , Busch stadium was providing beer in the clubhouse, post game.

We are in serious need of tort reform in this country.

I kind of like the "loser pays" option.

Absolutely. The fact that we have more freakin' lawyers in this country per capita than any other nation in the world BY FAR results in this kind of crap.

Too many lawyers looking for their next payday.  :banghead:
