90 minutes for a 40-minute trip to work this morning.  2-3 inches on the ground, more to come.  4:30 this afternoon can't come quickly enough.  I'm really getting the Bah-Humbugs of late.

2 hour delay for school today, due to ice.  It's fine out now, though at "Regular" school time it was still pretty slick.

They had a 2 hour early release yesterday, too.

Not sure what I'm going to do today.  I might do some baking, or I may wrap some stuff...who knows?

we had 4-5 inches last night but they did a really good job of clearing it off.

But we have THIS to look forward to:
Quote
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

A POWERFUL WINTER SYSTEM WILL GATHER STRENGTH OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS ON THURSDAY...THEN TRACK ACROSS NORTHERN MISSOURI... REACHING NORTHERN INDIANA BY FRIDAY MORNING. THIS IS A CLASSIC STORM TRACK FOR HEAVY SNOW ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN. WIDESPREAD SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF LATE FRIDAY MORNING.

SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE...WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM DODGEVILLE TO MILWAUKEE. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE...WHICH MAY ENHANCE THE SNOWFALL TOTALS IN LOCALIZED AREAS. LOCATIONS NEAR THE ILLINOIS BORDER SHOULD SEE A MIX OF SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW DURING THE EVENING... BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO ALL SNOW. THIS WILL LIKELY CUT DOWN ON SNOWFALL TOTALS SOMEWHAT.

IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY PRECIPITATION...STRENGTHENING EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS...WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

This is going to suck.

I have a little bit of leasure here this morning and then I am going to be crazy busy the rest of the day.  Errands, laundry, shopping, gift wrapping, cards, etc. etc.

It's still raining here....and supposed to tomorrow too.

I'm glad it's not snow....but it is sooooo gloomy. Snow is at least pretty and clean.

Going to a zoning meeting this afternoon at the City/County Building, in support of my friend's neighborhood.
Some bigwig in town is trying to put in a daycare for 120 kids across the street from an elementary school and another daycare center. The traffic in the morning, after school and evening rush hour is a nightmare over there. He's submitted it under the guise of a private school.  ::) My friend is wanting as many people as possible to support the neighborhoods around there and either keep the daycare from going in or force the county to do something about the traffic. It's a waste of time. However, I said I would be there.

Have to do a driveby and interior while I am out.....

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

I finally was able to get my Christmas cards out. It's 39 here in Southern Nevada, with a chance of rain.

Next week it will start to warm up again, it should be 60 on Christmas Day.

I got all my Christmas cards that I'm mailing out in yesterdays mail.  The rest either go to co-workers or family that I'll see this weekend.

It's dreary outside.  I had an exam this morning, I think I did okay on it.

please use it from Canada South to Hwy 264 in NC. For 3 weeks prior to the day of infamy.  That way it will drive all the ducks south and then they will have a 1 in 3 chance of surviving my off and on again shotguning practices  :-)

Well it's only supposed be in the low 50's tomorrow, then back to 70

My wife just pulled in from Ohare a while ago.

Made her a nice cozy bath with some mineral salts to wash the travel off and we are doing dinner here in a bit.

She brought home the entire Mocha Limu coffee inventory of Betty's Tea shop in England for me. :)

It snowed in Malibu today. I remember when that happened when I was in college there.

So much for sleeping in today... I got called in to work for a few hours and just got home. Hey, at least next week, I get to give the government more of my money with a 34 hour paycheck, compared to the usual 27.  :whatever:

Today was FAR too warm for December.  I want it to be cold, dammit.  Anyone want to trade places?! Please?!   I like snowy white Christmases, not tropical Christmases!  :mental:

My day was okay.  Our only full-time network guy is leaving by the end of the year.  I have heard that they are "training" the other IT people to cover for him until they can hire a replacement but the only people I know there that are remotely close to having some sort of networking-type qualification is me, the head of the IT department, and the IT/Operations VP.  I think they are planning on posting the job internally before putting it online.  I was asked if I was competent at subnetting.  :innocent:

They are also considering consolidating their printing/copying/imaging equipment to a single platform which is what I did (it's ALL I did :() while I was at Ford in '06-'07.  I got to put in my two cents.  I think it went well.  Since we are no long associated with the bank, every penny we can save helps.  So, I'm going to bust my ass over the next 30 days to get my CCNA and I hope I can pursuade them to get me off the damn phones.  This would be the fourth time I have interviewed with this company.  :mental:

I became fully pissed at my boss today, so the day turned out pretty crappy.  Now I'm drinking a beer, so it's at least getting better. :)

Tonight I sat at a bar with a friend from work and drank a cup of coffee. She had a couple drinks. It's all good.

Damn coffee, I thought it would warm me up....but of course now I am wide awake.

Sure.  Snow all weekend, and a Sat AM low of 6.  That cold and white enough for you?
