With my apologies to Mr Moore "the night before christmas 2008"

twas the night before christmas and all through the white house

no one was stirring ,neither george nor his spouse

the clothing was packed and stacked on the floor

and they knew they would live rent free no more

the twins were all nestled in an outside rose bed

while visions of xanex bars danced in their heads

george was napping with a loud and harsh snoring

while laura was wondering how life got so boring

when out near the street there arouse such noise

that george jolted awake,adjusting his boys

he went to the window,looking o'er the lawn

trying to find out what was going on

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,

and what to his startled eyes came into view

was a red and white moving truck and a blue moving crew

and the man who led them,so tall with no drama

that george knew in an instant,it must be obama

into the driveway the moving truck came

while the foreman gave orders and gave them by name

"now biden,now richardson,now hillary and bill"

"we have a big job .we can do it,and we will"

"we have work to do here and in many nations

to fix our economy and our foreign relations"

"to bring our sons home from a far away war

is something they cant wrap at your wal-mart store"

"its all got to stop before we all start to scorch"

and george heard them walking outside on the porch

and with a loud bang the door flew open

and there stood the foreman,just smiling and hoping

he was dressed in a suit,no tie on his neck

but his shoes were walked through,they just looked a wreck

he had the hopes of a nation in a big velvet sack

and he smiled just like justice,if justice were black

when he saw george his demeanor changed sadly

"george?"he asked"why did you do so badly?"

"when you told lies did you still kiss your mother?

was it the drinking the snorting or was it some other?"

"you took peoples sons,their homes and their banks

do you think that you really deserve any thanks?"

"you cheapened our nation with your insane antics

don't try to excuse it with a game of semantics!"

"trying to turn us one against another

i wouldn't LET you kiss ME if I were your mother"

"so be ready in january and don't try hide

bill knows this house both in and outside"

"and when we come back and if you try hidin'

we wont have no mercy,we'll give you to biden"

and with that he turned and went out of the door

george stood and stared and then stared some more

and he heard them exclaim as they drove off that night

"yes we should,yes we can,yes we will make it right"

Perhaps.  I noticed the only lines that really scanned properly with the meter of the original were the ones that were more or less directly lifted from it, while the ones completely replaced by the DUmmie's writing not so much.

Well, for whatever reasons, I did notice a certain gentle patronizing tone to the comments of the primitives, like what one uses when praising a retarded kid.

Maybe it's just me, but that's what I was getting.
