I got yelled at the other year because I didn't follow everyone down to the family room to watch TV.

We aren't nearly so structured.

We just tend to hang out a bit when we are gathered in family mode.

My lettuce didn't keep very well, so it's red onions and green peppers on my sammich.  Yum.

Awesome!! :hyper:

My direct deposit kicked in at my new job.  I made about $75 more than I was expecting to.  I get paid twice a month, so figuring my take-home pay is a PITA.

I'm gonna blow it all on hookers and coke.

Went to the ice skating thing.....OMG it was cold....my feet and tush were frozen. Went to dinner and 2 margaritas and 2 hot teas with alcohol I no longer have a cold tush, but feet still are.....I have been in the South tooooooo long....
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I have never been ice skating.  I spent 25 of my 34 years in Nashville.  The closest I got was the roller-skating fad in the 80's.

There used to be a roller rink/arcade in the part of town where my family lived.  That building is still standing.  It was a shrink-wrap business for a while, and now it's a church.  The building still looks the same.  It will always be the roller rink to me.

When I was a kid growing up in the midwest...we used to ice skate outside in the winter. But we were moving around and it didn't seem cold.

I was standing on a concrete floor about 10 feet away from the ice....and it was damn cold. My friend said they would have the heaters on....as we breathed...there was fog. If the heaters were on...they didn't work!!!! :censored:

Good thing I love this kid( and we really do- it's the child that I went on the college trip with)...$24 to freeze my tush off is not my idea of a good time....and that was for "standing room only"!!!! :censored: :censored: The other half said "it was a good thing he loved her to death...cause he wouldn't have done it for anyone else".

She is leaving next Saturday to go home to Maine to her mom and stepdad and finish her last semester of high school up there. We are praying she will come back here the by January 5th and do the semester here, but she might not graduate until the end of summer due to different requirements. Maine, however, is not a good situation for her for multiple reasons. :(

Okay, now that the NyQuil is in the system (I have a cold :()  I'm feeling pretty good right now.   :innocent:   I did have to get in the car and go to WalGreens for some other things to help sleep through the night soundly (nasal spray and ear drops) and scored a lovely deal on 4 2L Dr. Peppers (79 cents each!  :-))  Okay, so I know that wouldn't exactly help me fall asleep, but I love deals like that where I can save over a dollar per bottle (1.89 normally).

Yes, I was in the car AFTER I took the NyQuil and let it get settled in my system.  So, I guess I was practically driving under the influence.    :uhsure:

It's two different margarita they make at this place in downtown Phoenix.  We always go there when we're going to a concert at the Dodge theatre, because it's close to it.

All of their margaritas are made with fresh squeezed lime juice.  The Chili Lime one has some pretty hot red chili powder mixed in with the salt on the rim, and a sprinkling in the drink.

The Cinnamon "red hot" margarita, they only do right before Christmas.  Instead of triple sec, they melt some red hot candies and mix it with triple sec and use that in the margarita.

Interesting, I was just telling a friend last night how my Great Aunt would add red hots to her homemade applesauce when it was cooking down. Really good stuff. I used to say at their farm often in Illinois growing up.

yeah, in applesauce, they would melt down into the applesauce while cooking.

She would make it both with and without the red hots. My mom and her would freeze a zillion zip lock bags of sauce every summer...well maybe not a zillion, but it felt like it when I was the kid that had to carry it to deep freeze in the cellar.

I had forgotten about my mom doing this to applesauce too!!! It was the best way to get me to eat the stuff. Thanks for the memory Rob. <<<<hugs>>>>

.

Years ago whenmy mom did canning she did a lot of canning. Everytime she did canning she would put together a special batch for use on special occassions. Hell I bet in the basement of my parents house there are containers of canned beets, pickles, soups, chow chow that my mother canned 40 yrs ago.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.
