Freezin' Friday
« on: December 12, 2008, 06:19:32 AM »
Mostly clear skies, 28 degrees, and plenty of snow/ice on the ground.  I have not yet ventured out to see how thick the layer of ice is on the driveway.  Hope it ments soon....I have a company Christmas party this evening.   :innocent:

Whew...ice missed us, school is still on, so school performences will commence as planned.

When I get home, I need to make a double batch of fudge (about 14 lbs) and pumpkin bread for tomorrow's performance.

3 more days!

It snowed here the other day.  It was basically gone by the time the kids were in school but they were excited.

I'm washing all our sheets today and going to the grocery store.  I wrapped a ton of presents yesterday and need to get my Dad, his wife and my grandma's presents in the mail.  I also have a necklace that I'm sending to my cousin as well, she is all of my kid's "Fairy Godmother" (my middle child named her that).  I found the same "Lucky Brand" necklace that I have and LOVE at Dillards 40% off so I had to buy it for her.  By the way, Dillards is having a great sale.  Just about everything is 40% off (Perfume sets are even on sale and I have never seen that before, I believe they are only 20% or 30% off though).  Everything that is actually marked down (not just on sale) is an additional 30% off.  It's like an after Christmas sale before Christmas.

I bought some new mints they have at Hickory Farms.  They are DELICIOUS.  They are called Peppermint Snow Mints.  I normally don't like peppermint but these mints are just so good.  Just to show you how good they are I bought three bags of them.  Also they look so "fancy", they look good in a Christmas dish.

My son is coming home tomorrow for a month long break.  I am so excited.  :)

5 degrees or -7 with the wind chill.  :(

My daughter had her holiday band program last night and it was pretty cool. She was the loudest one in her row.

Getting ready for the family Christmas gathering toimorrow and my brother and his 3 kids staying with us tomorrow night.

Week has pretty much blown though.

It is cold here but like in the 30's or something. I forget what snow looks like. I want to go up to the mountans sometime soon and watch my little girl's face seeing snow.

We are supposed to get snow this weekend through tues or so. Not sure how much, the forecasters say 2-3 feet or more at the higher elevations, a dusting down where we are.

It's warm enough that I'm back to the standard flip flops.   :-)

The excitement for today is prepping more storage boxes to go to our offsite storage location.  LOL!

I gave up on figuring out this Bakugan stuff for the nephews, I'm going to get them shirts from my school.  My SIL said months ago that's what I should get them, they love wearing shirts from where my brother (their dad) goes to school, hopefully they'll like my school too.  I also remembered that my mom wants the alumni license plate bracket, so it appears that I'll be getting a lot of my Christmas shopping done at the school bookstore.  w00t!   :-)

I will delight customers for eight hours, followed by a 3 day weekend.

It's 52 here, and by the time I go to work, it will be in the 60's.

Las Vegas is getting ready for snow next week. I think by saying "getting ready" they mean "everyone should stay home" Highs next week only to be in the 40's........

Might be more to this storm coming in than meets the eye. The city manager is stating that all the road clearing equipment is "ready to go"...........hummmmmm.....

I will heal eventually.  I have determined that I am allergic to gravity.

Must go prepare for the company Christmas Party....Black Tie.   :-)

At least they have an open bar, so I will feel no pain shortly, and I get my 10yr anniversary gift from them too.

Open bar and a gift! Now that's a winning combo. Have fun. :-)

My kitty, Mia, was asleep on the sofa next to me.  Until the phone rang, then she immediately needed in my lap and was meowing the entire time I was on the phone.  Apparently, she really needed to talk to Eric too.  LOL

We ended up only getting cold weather.....after a bit over 4 inches of rain.

Ice and snow all around us, all the schools were closed by my county. Bet there were a whole bunch of sleepy kids in school that didn't expect to be there!

Brrrrrrrrrrrr.......

So sorry. :(  I managed to avoid falling, but it took me two hours to get to work this morning.  The five-mile road leading out of my neighborhood was a solid sheet of ice loaded with bumper cars.
