Proof positive that DU does not represent the real world.

Now I know most of us are well aware that we are different here, infinitely more engaged, hyperpartisan and for the most part rude as can be ;-)

But over and over in the months leading up to actual voting, I've heard a popular refrain from people who disliked Hillary here on DU. "No one I know likes her or will vote for her".

This was repeated dozens of times with quite a few DUers chiming in.

Well we're 6 elections in and some 1.5M Democrats have already voted for Hillary Clinton.

So next time someone says to you that no one they know likes or will vote for your candidate.

Just roll your eyes.

And the Hilary love continues ....

26. Probably, but DU really doesn't represent the real world. Most people know a fraction
of what we know. They get their biased news from FAUX, Rush, Hannity, O'LIELLY, Tweety, Blitzer and their local newspaper. They really have no clue what's REALLY going on. Obama's popular? OKAY then! I'll vote for him!

 :lmao:

I just spit coffee over my work computer.

42. Unlike many here, I don't pretend that the Democratic party is the "left wing" or liberal...progressive, or whatever term you use, political party in the United States. Such an entity doesn't exist in this nation, we have the Dems, who are Center-Right, and the Repukes, who are Far-Right. I'm not surprised that so many people who are Democrats support either Hillary or Obama.

Maybe a world, a universe, where Mao tse-Tung and Pol Pot are "right-leaning moderates"?
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

:lmao:  Those idiots are clueless! No left wing party? Good Lawd how can people be this obtuse. If they're center right, I'm off the scale right.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
