What is it about....
« on: December 05, 2008, 09:37:03 AM »
My dogs and toast?  They freak out when ever I make toast.  They both come right next to my legs and look so forlorn.  Toby even puts a paw up on my chair and has this sad look that he saves just for toast.  They don't even act this way for steak.   :mental:  I always tell them no but end up giving them some.  Today they also got cinnamon and sugar on it.

I don't know.  Heck, you'd think I'd never feed my cat, Monty, by the way he acts whenever I'm eating.

I was watching "It's Me or the Dog" on Animal Planet.  She sat down this whole family.  Gave them each a piece of chocolate cake on a plate.  They had like 5 kids or something.  Anyway, she then tells them "DON'T EAT IT".  They about wanted to die.  She said this is what it's like every time you eat in front of your dog.  If you don't want him to beg, don't eat in front of him.

That's about right.  Whenever I have no intention of sharing my food with my kitties, I lock them in a room somewhere, and feed them....then I go make my own.

I can NEVER eat ANYTHING without them begging.  Even if it's something they don't like...they have to sample a piece before they say,OK..no good, you can have it. :lmao:

My cats aren't beggars and seem to have no interest in people food for the most part.

However, when I was making the oyster casserole for Thanksgiving.....when I opened the oyster container.....they were suddenly all around me....circling, meowing, tails up in the air......they were going nuts. I don't even get that reaction when I open a can of tuna.  :lmao:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

My cat Lucy loves raw hamburger and steak.  I was afraid to give it to her the first time but I went ahead.  She will come from wherever she is in the house if I open a package of hamburger.  She's an ornery little thing but she's adorable anyway.  We sometimes call her Lucy-fer.  I have an older cat Gabby and she's the boss.

Are you still talking about the cats?  :p

Dogs love bread almost as much as meat.  I don't know why.

My dogs would eat one of their own turds if I spread it on bread.

Dogs like bread because it's full of brewers yeast and yeast is full of B vitamins. They could be deficient in B Vitamins, nutritionally speaking. Are they may just be chow hounds.

My daughter's cat always seems to want coffee.  Every morning, when I try to get to the coffeemaker, she is all over under my feet.   I can do anything else in the kitchen with very little interference, but she goes nuts when I reach for that coffeemaker.   :???: :???:

Dump a little on her, that will stop the behavior.

we had a golden retriever put her paws up on the kitchen counter when no one was looking, knock over a entire roast chicken and steal an entire loaf of bread. She carried into the laundry room and devoured it all. She was bloated for a week!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Monty can tell the difference between me defrosting in the microwave and cooking.  His butt won't get off the sofa for defrosting, but that last beep, he knows it's done and is immediately in the kitchen under my feet.   LOL!

I hate that show. It's like she's trying to be the English version of the Dog Whisperer. My dog knows better than to beg me for food. He tries, but I just tell him to go lay down.... 10 seconds later, he forgets I even have a plate in front of me and goes into the hallway to chew on the back of his ass for 5 minutes.

Our puppy doesn't know about human food yet.  We've fed her a few peices of meat but never in a situation where she would equate it to us eating means her eating.  So far whenever we eat she doesn't even seem to notice that there is tasty stuff within her reach.

I'm hoping it stays like that.
