SEC Championship Game
« on: December 05, 2008, 08:12:41 AM »
Alabama vs. Florida

To me, this game is a toss-up, it's 50-50.  I know most all of the big sports analysts are saying Florida winning big, but I can't go along.  Bama went undefeated in the SEC and overall.  This isn't just some lucky better-than-average team who happened to slip through.  They are a very solid team.  If they don't win it this year, they're definately going to reek havoc next year.  As soon as Saban went there, it was obvious that the SEC West, and the whole SEC, just got a whole lot harder to win.

This game could be close, or it could be a blowout for either team.  It could go any number of ways.

If I had to give a prediction, I'd say Florida will win.  But that's only giving them a thumbs-up with 50.00001% of my vote.  This game is going to be tough.

i really think this game will come down to who scores first, or at least leads after the first quarter.  Bama hasn't been behind but about 20 minutes TOTAL all year, so they aren't used to come from behind wins.  Florida has outscored opponents something like 120-30 in the first quarter this year.  Florida gets comfortably ahead, watch for Bama to start forcing things...

Florida's defense isn't as disciplined in execution as Alabama's is. The key for the game, for me anyway, is the 'Bama O-line vs. UF D-line.

This game may have a significant impact on the Heisman as well.  If Tebow has a huge game in a win, and Bradford plays poorly even in a win (not likely, but hey), Tebow could mount a challenge to Colt McCoy.

I think Alabama may just pull it off...if they aren't psyched out over it being Florida, which was always UT's problem.

Should be a good game no matter what.

I'll go with Florida big which is a shame because, well, fark Florida. Alabama is overrated in what has not been the SEC's strongest year. The SEC has been the best for some time and likely will be again (as soon as next year even) but in the here and now, Florida is the only real superpower IMHO.

Gators spank Bama. 40-20

Floridia will win. LSU gave AL all they could handle with their 3rd string QB. Tebow will eat their lunch.

Really good game. Better than I thought it would be for sure. Alabama's got a lot of fight in em.

Hey ACC fans, THAT'S how you play a championship!  :cheersmate:

GO GATORS!

......and no, the only reason I'm pulling for them has nothing to do with them losing to my Rebs. .....well, maybe just a little.  :evillaugh:

Great game by 2 great teams.  UF plays up to their potential against OU and they'll win the NC.

As a bowl game, against any other team other than UT, is the only time I cheer for Florida to win....I hope they kick OU into the dirt..... :-)

LSU last year now FL has a good shot at the NC. this year. Go Gators. SEC has the strongest conference.
