A bulb by Washington state artist Deborah Lawrence is decorated with pictures and text commending Rep. Jim McDermott's (D-Wash.) efforts to impeach the president, the Washington Post reported. First Lady Laura Bush asked McDermott to select a local artist to decorate bulbs for the tree, and McDermott selected Lawrence.
"I was at first nauseated, then realized it was an opportunity…to highlight Jim McDermott because he's a hero of mine," Debora Lawrence said.
"It really is too bad," said Sally McDonough, a spokeswoman for the First Lady. "I haven't seen the ornament, but I would hope that no one would take this as an opportunity to be divisive and partisan. There is a time and place for everything, and I don't think this is either."

To the extremely negative, "What a loser! No decency or civility. Because you don't get your way you feel you can act rude and hostile. That is the problem with this country. Too many people like Deborah Lawrence. Debate rages here, what do you think? What an ugly cow !

ahh, the ever present love and forgivness of our left leaning brothers and sisters. Taking the opportunity to turn what should be a joyous holiday celebration, into a shallow self-serving display of intollerance. Thank you Deborah Lawrence for showing us that hate filled artists can still get decent work instead of relying on government grants to live….. wait… the government paid you to spew your bilious excrement upon a symbol of peace and forgiving.

You know, I don't know who to more upset with. This clown McDermott who completely spit in Laura's face or Laura for asking a man who tried to impeach her husband for this "favor". I mean really, what is it about the Bush's that they insist on loving those that hate them? I guess that whole Christian thing. As for the Dems, what do you expect? Swine.

She gets a chance to have her work put on the White House Christmas tree and it leaves her "nauseated". Seems like that would have been a clue to let someone else take advantage of the opportunity.

Awwww, yes. Another sparkling example of who is truly "meanspirited". And it does raise the question as to why we bend over so far to appease those who clearly have no tolerance for opposing opinions! Hooray for bi-partisanship!

This should not suprise anyone. The left cannot seperate politics from anything. They take the saying that "all politics are local" to "ALL are politics". This is the difference between the left and right, the left will fight for their way at every instance and the right will cave on every issue. The republican view of bipartisan is "ok, we'll compromise". The democraps view is similar but the slightly different "ok,you'll compromise". Can you think of one issue that the left has not eventully got their way. Sometimes it takes years but it comes about.

Very cool. I hope they hang it in a place of honor. Maybe next to Slick Willies Cigar ornament or the one with a picture of Monica's stained Dress. Dumbocraps, can't live with them and you can't flush them.

Maybe Barney can knock it off the tree and break it!

This is so typical of the left. And so course the MSM will celebrate this act as an expression of free speak and a profile of courage. The ornament should be flushed down a toliet. I have never been so disusted with the liberals as I am now.

What to you expect from a liberal. All they stand for is their own self-interests. Maybe some of George's NRA buddies can use it for target practice.[/SIZE]
