They left Mackey Alive for a Spinoff series.

Vic Mackey "The ICE Man" ???
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

A very appropriate ending.  Vic is left with nothing.  No family, no friends, no job except for sitting at a cube for the next three years.

Vic was looking out for himself and he thought his family too.  I felt a little bad for poor Ronnie, as he stuck with Vic all the way through.  I loved Dutch's line when Ronnie asked what they were arresting him for...."The last three years!"

I still haven't decided if I liked Dutch. A stand up guy for a weasel.

He was an interesting character, as were most on the show.  I'm gonna miss it.

Strange thing is I go 2,3,4 yrs without watching much television. Then I catch a couple hrs here & there and get hooked on some shows like The Sheild, House , Dexter, The Tudors, Brotherhood, Trueblood. I have an uncasnny knack for catching them at or near end of a season though. Get left hanging for a couple more months.

I don't watch many shows either, but this one hooked me.

If they would have left him at his desk in the end I would be willing to bet 98% of America would have said he was going to eat his gun.  I knew Shane was going to do what he did.  I thought for sure Ronnie would have gotten killed in the bust.  All I kept thinking while Vic was unpacking his pictures was RUN TO MEXICO DANG YOU!!!!!!!!  I have never seen any human look that inappropriate in a suit before.

Here is my flash forward 5 years for them all

Claudette=really dead
Dutch= dead by serial killer
Steve= head of strike team
Julian= dancing naked in a gay bar
Danni= having Aceveda's baby
Aceveda= POTUS after the pictures of his unfortunate event become public knowledge and the lefties have found their new savior
Ronnie= made it one week in solitary before using his own intestines to strangle himself
Officer Tina= Blows her way to the top and becomes Chief of Police
Corrine= Finds another cop in her new town and whines and bitches him into a very early grave
Cassidy Mackey= serial killer
ICE Olivia=bewildered looks herself to death
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

I was afraid Vic was gonna go out Shane style too, but I liked the ending.

His version of hell has to be the ironing board size cubicle with one keyboard, a mouse and a monitor. Writing reports for three years.

But......the last image of him was when he walked off camera with that f*ck you smirk on his face that the man does better than anyone on the planet.

Vic will be just fine.

Ronnie, on the other hand, spent all those years as basically set dressing, never getting any lines or a meaty role in the show and now has to spend the rest of his life in 'pound you in the ass' federal prison.

I gotta say Corrine mackey is a bitch. Now granted Vic may have done some despicable crap but Corrine Knew with out a doubt Vic would never hurt her or the kids. Yet she used that claim to narc him out & get a ticket out of dodge.
