EXCLUSIVE: Obama to delay repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell'
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:37:05 AM »
Quote
EXCLUSIVE:

President-elect Barack Obama will not move for months, and perhaps not until 2010, to ask Congress to end the military's decades-old ban on open homosexuals in the ranks, two people who have advised the Obama transition team on this issue say.

Repealing the ban was an Obama campaign promise. However, Mr. Obama first wants to confer with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and his new political appointees at the Pentagon to reach a consensus and then present legislation to Congress, the advisers said.

"I think 2009 is about foundation building and reaching consensus," said Aubrey Sarvis, executive director of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network. The group supports military personnel targeted under the ban.  ...

By January you'll need a powerful microscope to see the change on offer.

If gays are allowed to openly serve are the troops going to be allowed to request special latrines and showers for them?  I know had I KNOWN I was showering with a gay guy I would have been mortified.

Exactly............and I'd like to ask the idiots that support this, "Can I shower with your teenage daughters?" Seems like the same thing to me.

Obama invested heavily in the stock of ignorance of the masses.  He played on the idea a president is all-powerful.  Obama's idiot followers lapped it up.

Now is Reality Time.  A president can't do anything on his own.  A president is just a big cog in the government machine.

His team is already trying to get the 'believers' to come back to earth.  They promised the moon but are only going to be able to deliver regular dust.

Ultimately I think all the compaign 'promises' are going to bite them in the ass.  Those who were too stupid to realize the bull shit when the campaign was going are going to be too stupid to understand why their messiah can't/won't deliver.

It's all quite simple really. Racism in the United States is so engrained that even the First black President was held down by "The Man".  :whatever:
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Well, he's half white, half black.  Does that mean he's holding himself down?

What's interesting to me is that Bubba screwed up his first term with the "Gays in the Military" bit and I don't think Obama want's a redo of sorts.

He promised them the moon. Instead, they're just going to get mooned.

Maybe some Republican ought to bring it up and see what the majority and the new President want to do with it.

My guess is that it is close to a third rail issue and would drive the left nuts when their own squelched it.

Well, this is just the first of many promises Barack Hussein Obama is going to break to the far-left. Not that he'll ever go anywhere close to the center, but frankly, blacks are against "gay rights", and that's the side he's taking.

Looking at his appointments so far, he seems to be using a lot of Clinton retreads. Obama is looking forward to the nineties,
