TN is gorgeous...but I love North Georgia.  I have a vacation/turned investment house there.  I miss the roadtrips and the scenery.  Maybe one day......Florida doesn't do it for me anymore...

I love Georgia from what I've seen of it.  If I move, it will probably be somewhere near Atlanta.

I'm from Upstate New York.  Born 15-20 miles from where I'm typing this.  Lived in a few places, most in NY.  I did spend two years in Texas--El Paso, when I was at FT Bliss.  (For those who don't know, "upstate" is defined by NYCers as anything north of NYC.  I recognize it as north of the Mohawk River.)

Born in Rhode Island.  Grew up as a Navy brat in Newfoundland, Virginia and the Netherlands.  Dad retired in Pittsburgh, when I was 12 and I've been here ever since.
My mom and dad were raised in Philly.

I'd love to move to N GA myself. I love the area around Clayton and my Wife likes Talluah Falls. We'll most likely end up there one day.  :-)

Born in Gary, Indiana and lived there for 10 years.  Father moved us to a pudunk down called Durant in Mississippi and lived there for 2 years.  Father moved us to the New Orleans and lived there until I joined the Air Force at 23.   After San Antonio, spent about 6 months in Biloxi at Keesler for Tech School.  Got stationed at Camp Zama in Japan and spent 7 years there where I met my wife and our daughter was born.  Our wife got us stationed at the Pentagon so we lived in DC, Manassas and Woodbridge in Virginia, then Germantown in Maryland and spent about 5 years total in that area.  Wife got stationed at Sheppard in Wichita Falls, then got out and we moved to the DFW area and have been here since.  Texas is the best state I've ever visited or lived in and I plan to die here.   :-)

I always laugh laugh when my husband tells people he's from Upstate NY.  He was born and raised in Ulster County for goodness sake!  I'm from the South and don't consider that as Upstate, but what do I know.  Guess hubby just got used to the term from living there so long.

Born in Los Angeles (Good Samaritan Hospital, so yes, as "hood rat" as it gets).  Raised everywhere west of North Platte, NE (15 states before age 16).  Tried CA after I got out of the Navy, found out I hated it, moved to NH 2 years ago.

At some point in the 1940's, my ancestors crawled out of the Mississippi backwoods and made it to the big city of Memphis where both my parents were born and raised. I was born in Memphis but we lived in Southaven MS my entire life. (It's right across the state line) My relatives are scattered all over TN/MS and my parents and siblings still live where I grew up.

When I was 21, I moved to Dallas (wild hair - didn't know a soul, just packed up my car and went) and lived in the Metroplex for 12 years before moving to Northern Virigina. We have been here for about 6 years now. I'd love to move back to either Texas or MS/TN area to be closer to family. Hubby is an Okie but I don't hold it against him.  :evillaugh:

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Similarly, I was born about 5 miles from where I'm now living, suburban Philadelphia. I spent several years of my teens and young adulthood living at the beach in Delaware. I miss living by the ocean.

Born in Shiner, TX grew up in Cuero, Tx.  I spent 2 year in Germany in the early 80's
and then came back home.  I've lived in Houston since 1986.

As much as I hate Houston, It's still good to be in Texas.   :cheersmate:

Born in central IL while my parents were visiting my mom's parents for Christmas. Lived in N IL through kindergarten, my dad was transferred to Sioux Falls for 2 yrs, then to W Des Moines, through 8th grade. Transferred back to N IL where I went to HS, college in DeKalb at NIU. Then I moved by myself to Omaha, staying with a step sister in Council Bluffs til I found a job in Omaha about 2 wks after I got there.

Lived in Omaha where I met my ex right before he started his senior yr in med school. We got married when he finished, moved to Charlottesville VA for 2 yrs, last 4 mos of that time at the VA Hospital in Roanoke, and had my daughter there. Went to Durham NC for 4 yrs with 2 stops in Asheville for 4 mos for him to work at the VA hospital there.

Moved to E TN in 83 and have been here ever since......would love to end up on the SC coast.

Krystal's are better than WC. Especially the Chili Cheese Pups.

From Jonesborough, Tn. My daddy got a job in Michigan working for GM. He left me down in Tn for 7 years, living with my Grandparents. My mother is from Harlan County, Ky.

After they forcibly kidnapped me and took me to the northern tundra, there I resided for over 50 years. I ended up working for GM myself. I retired in 06.

During the process of moving back to Tn, my wife decided she wanted to live in northern Michigan. Hence the divorce, which ended up being a legal separation ( all of the headaches with none of the benefits) :naughty: It was finalized last Monday.

Anywayfor the last few years I've been splitting the time between the two states. Now that I have no obligations to anyone but the dog (joint custody), I'm moving to my trailer in Greeneville, Tn permanently.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
