I've seen them in Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma...

I'll have to put them on my list.  Can I crash at your place when I pass through?

We had, or maybe have, a KFC/A&W in Augusta on Jimmy Dyess Parkway. A&W Burgers are friggin' awesome! Haven't been there since I was in the military. It was on the way to Ft. Gordon.

Quote
There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Air Force. I was disqualified from the Marines when I took the ASVAB with a pencil instead of a crayon.

Hey!

All they handed out were crayons.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Minneapolis.  :naughty:

Greyt, the other SLW.  :-)

Was born in STL, attended college in Decatur, Il, moved back to STL, then to Chicago, then to San Antonio, and been back in SLW for over 25 years.

I've never been to Minneapolis.

I remember when I got to San Antonio for AIT. It was November. From everything in the movies, I thought it was in a desert as I had seen many movies and shows about the Alamo. Um, wrong perception. It was cold, raining, and grassy. No desert, no tumbleweed, none of that shiat. Hooters on the river was cool. Other than that, it was like a foreign country....and I couldn't speak Spanish. Ft. Sam? Women all over the damn place. It's probably the only installation where it "seems" the women outnumber the men.

It's been a long time since I lived in San Antonio. I thought it would be this little Western town with cattle all over. Turned out it had good museums, excellent symphony, nice people.

I loved Ft Sam, used to take my kids there to pet the deer in the quadrangle. I went to I think it was Brooks hospital with my friends. We took our dogs there and did pet therapy.

Living in San Antonio was a happy time. I had to return to STL when my dad died to help my mom.

Born in St. Louis, moved to south west Missouri about 25 miles west of Branson for my raisin'.  North Carolina in the Army.  Moved to San Diego for a very short while.  Started building water towers and moved all over the place .... Stayed in Hawaii on a job for about a year but for the most part was in an area for 1 - 3 months.

Found Texas whilst traveling and when the kids were born told the wife out of all the places we had lived I liked Hawaii and Texas and it was her pick.

Settled in Texas and haven't looked back.  I LOVE Texas!

Born in South Carolina, raised in South Carolina, lived my whole life, except a short time in the Marines and the best part of that was at Parris Island , South Carolina. Then there was that couple of years of college time and it was spent at The University of South Carolina. ....and I'd like to add, good Lord willing, I'm gonna die in South Carolina.

Did I happen to mention that I was from South Carolina?

...and for all the Texas folks here. I got relatives all over Texas but I ain't heard none of ya'll mention my favorite little Texas towns, Mt. Pleasant and Mt. Vernon?

I'm an Air Force brat.  I claim Michigan as home, cause thats where I "grew up", meaning I went through High School there.  I was born in Iraklion, Crete though.
Does that mean you're a cretin?

Born in WV, grew up in KY with a short stint in TN.

Moved to NC in my mid 20's and decided since I was in Fayetteville to just join the Army.

After ETS went back to KY, then SC, then VA, then TN, then PA (stuck out like a sore thumb with this Southern accent), back to NC, back to TN, now back in NC with another move on the horizon.

Something keeps calling me back to TN and NC.

TN is gorgeous...but I love North Georgia.  I have a vacation/turned investment house there.  I miss the roadtrips and the scenery.  Maybe one day......Florida doesn't do it for me anymore...

North GA is one of the possible locations for our next move.  Dahlonega is favored.  I haven't been there yet, but my husband likes it so much that he would rather our home be there and drive from Atlanta for weekends.
