Behind the Scenes at Busch Stadium
« on: November 13, 2008, 09:38:31 PM »
This has been a good day. The manufacturer of the product I sell had a product show in the conference area at Busch Stadium. It was sooo cool. The area for the show was in an upper level of the stadium, entered through the business office. There were huge windows looking over downtown St Louis. Specialists from all over the country were there.

OK, that's the business stuff. Now on to the fun. They provided behind the scenes tours of Busch Stadium. I tagged along on the last tour. We got to go to the upper levels (via elevator, thank God) and stand in the broadcaster's booth. They showed where Mike Shannon, Cards broadcaster and former player) sits. He has back problems and sits on one of those big exercise balls instead of a chair.

Then we passed through the executive/club area. They say you have to commit to buying at least 2 tickets a year for 10 years---cost? $14k a ticket. That place was plush. Of course it includes very good food and the best seats in the house for the game. It should for that kind of money.

The best was last. We got to stand on the field and go into the dugout. The service manager took a pic of me standing in the dugout, leaning on the rail. It was so cool. Can't wait for baseball to start again.

Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

Can't wait. Hope the Cards do better this year.

And if anyone is in STL, apparently the tours are available year round. The tour guide said he's taken out tours when it was 6 degrees. I think I'd skip that tour.  :-)
