Wet Thursday

Pea soup fog/drizzle/rain here.  Bleh.

On a positive note, gas prices have dropped below $2 nearly everywhere around here.

The forecast for the Sandhills of Nebraska today is....."wind."

As if Nebraska for the past 4,873 years this coming Tuesday, has never had a day without wind.

I'm not complaining, just stating something.

I'm getting a haircut today, and then going to the big city to drop off some accounting work, to pick up some money owed me, to find out more about the Christmas party this coming Saturday, to look at used computers for sale at Northeast Community College (Windows XP and Windows Vista) as I'm getting impatient for the nephew to bring one up here.

The nephew will bring one up here, but if I end up with two (three) computers, no big deal; it's always handy to have a spare.  The computers at this place are for sale for $20 up to $200.  I might, or might not, find one.

Then I hope to get George and William in for their cat examinations, and even though it's a couple of months too early, their shots.  All the other cats are done.

Oh, I forgot.

Gasoline prices in the Sandhills of Nebraska circa $1.99-2.02 this morning, but that's the 15% ethanol gasoline, not regular gasoline.  Regular gasoline as usual is five cents higher.  Last week I switched from regular gasoline to the 15% ethanol because winter's here.  I do it every year.

Chilly and drizzly.

My wife took the morning off and we have been hanging out which has been nice. :)

I have to go shopping in a little bit for a dinner tonight.  My wife is interviewing a Manager cadidate and we are having him and his family over for a grill out tonight.  His kids are 7 and 10 so we are planning on more of a playdate with grownups than anything else.

My dryer is working again so I'm washing my sheets.  I love sheet day.  Going to sleep on clean sheets is one of my favorite things.

I'm going to run to the grocery store after my sheets are put back on my bed.  I'm making something very fattening for dinner tonight.  My great-grandma was German (her last name was Streitenberger), and she use to make homemade noodles, stew a chicken and make a kind of thick chicken noodle soup (no vegetables in it) then put it on top of potatoes (mashed or just boiled, I like it either way).  Talk about STARCH.   For years I actually made her homemade noodles but started using Reames frozen noodles.  They aren't quite as good as the homemade kind but it sure takes a lot less effort.  You have to have a TON of noodles, not the amount you would use for chicken noodle soup.  Of course add salt and a lot of pepper.  The chicken is in the crockpot already......comfort food.....yum.

Not doing much here.  Just left statistics (the class that helps the makers of head-ache medications make money  :p ).  I'll do some work on a paper that's due next week, then go to work.

I tried calling the house earlier, to see how everything was going as far as repair work.  It's telling me the phone number is out of service, which is scaring the crap out of me.  :(

You should try one of them new fangled indoor stores.  They're pretty nice these days.

Soggy, rainy, damp, dreary.....and on the low side of cool.....now it's being extended through Saturday....with all the leaves falling everywhere and the rain...it's slick on the roads.

Need to go take interior pictures of the latest foreclosure...the locks are being changed and it winterized this morning. I have to go see how much damage has been done and how much has to be trashed out. I think I'm waiting until tomorrow to go do it though....supposed to be still rainy, but warmer.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Mid-40's now, but as the rain moves in tonight and gets heavier it'll warm up.  I'm enjoying it while I can--snow forcast for early next week.  Good thing I got all the leaves off the lawn Tuesday.
