Um...  As I understand it (which isn't terribly well), it's usually used to trick assorted perverts.  You hook them by saying you've got a really hot video of Linsey Lohan and her lesbo lover in bed together or something equally lurid and provide a link.  However, in reality, the link goes to a video of Rick Astley singing "Never Gonna Give You Up."

The best Rickrolled I ever saw was when someone posted that there was an exclusive video of Michelle Obama and her "whitey" speech up and provided a link to it.

I just learned that the Muppet Show footage is Beaker singing "Feelings."  Great editing job matching it to "Never Gonna Give You Up!"
