Reid looking to remove Lieberman as committee head
« on: November 06, 2008, 11:08:46 PM »

while I don't look forward to yet another RHINO, I would do just about anything to keep the dems as far away from 60 votes in the senate as possible.  hell, he can't be any worse than olympia snowe.

Reid looking to remove Lieberman as committee head
WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Joe Lieberman's affiliation with Democrats was in question after a meeting Thursday with Majority Leader Harry Reid, steamed over the Connecticut independent's high-profile support of John McCain for president.

Reid, in a sternly worded statement after the 45-minute meeting, said no official decisions have been made. But an aide to the Nevada Democrat said Reid was leaning toward removing Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions were confidential.

"While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus," Reid said.

.
"I want to spend some time in the next few days thinking about what Sen. Reid and I discussed what my options are at this point," Lieberman said. "He promised me that he would do the same and we would continue these conversations."

Republicans have said they would welcome Lieberman to their caucus.

Why would they mind Lieberman's support of McCain?

McCain is a Democrat in all but name anyway.

They got their hand bit the last time they tried to screw over Lieberman.   Democrats never learn from history do they?

Especially with Rahm "twinkletoes" Emmanuel in the White House. The Ds will walk with goose-stepping precision for the next two years.
