I'm Expecting A Bundle of Joy at My Home Soon

A friend cannot support his 2 y/o bassett hound anymore and has asked that I take him in. The dog is a sweetheart and a half, beautiful tri-color and weighs in at a hefty 75 lbs.

I've been fencing in the back yard (no easy feat with a shoulder STILL broken after 3-1/2 mos). As soon as it is done--probably Friday--I'll bring him home and post pics. He has a play-date with my other bassett tomorrow.

I may be 40 but I'm anxious and giddy about adopting him.

That's it, I want some pictures. Radar is too cute a name! I'm jealous and yes, my heart skipped a beat when I thought you were going to be a dad again.  :-)

If that happened to ME, my heart would skip a beat too, since I had the same procedure as poor ol' Radar 10 years ago AND I am old enough to be a young grandpa.

UPDATE: Making sure my bassett gets along gets along well enough with Radar.

We've had 2 play-dates, 1 on his home turf for his comfort and 1 at my place. Both went very well.

Radar's current daddy works 14-on/14-off in the oilfields and is currently "on" but is expected to come home this morning to say goodbye. Assuming he can Radar will likely move in today.

Radar is this massively loveable big lug and I must say I'm rather excited.
