Yes: 57.5% No: 42.5%
3.7% ( 958 of 25429 ) precincts reporting

That is a damned big lead to feel optimistic.

Even if this passes today. There is still hope. Exit polls btw, put it at failing 52-48, so there is still hope tonight too.

42. Let's face it: Americans, on the whole, are bigots

Crimeny, we have third world countries that have or soon will legalize same sex marriage. Using just about any metric you want, the United States is always down towards the bottom of where it should be.

LOL!  I already reasessed my Christmas spending.  The liberals on my list will receive a nice card with a note inside on how the wealth I was going to give them has been "redistributed" elsewhere.  I know it will send at least one of them ballistic, but them's the breaks.

I'm just going to sit back for a bit, waiting for the Big Zero to mail me the deed to El Stupido Supremo's second house in Connecticut.

El Stupido Supremo has two houses, and I have none, and I'm sure the Big Zero will redress this imbalance.

81. Rather than whine about it, what if we start to take some action?

First of all, don't work for or attend any heterosexual marriage ceremonies, and tell your friends and family why you're not attending. I'm being serious. What do you all think of that idea?

Honestly, I'm tempted to ask every business I patronize whether or not the owner voted for or against Prop. 8, and then act accordingly.

Prop 8 was soundly passed by Obama's black base.

Gay Marriage Opponents "Thank" Obama
CBS Evening News: Californians Who Hope To Ban Gay Marriage Are Counting On Obama Voters To Give Them A Boost

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 5, 2008

<snip>

(CBS) Those campaigning in California for Proposition 8, which would reinstate the ban on gay marriage, believe they'll get a lot of unintended help from Barack Obama on Election Day, reports CBS News correspondent John Blackstone.

"We thank Barack Obama, even though he's not supporting it, for helping us," says Sonja Eddings Brown, of an anti-gay-marriage group called Protect Marriage. "We think it's going to push us over the top."

Obama is expected to bring African-American voters out in record numbers, and those voters are seen as often being more conservative on issues involving homosexuality.

Pastor Edward Smith of Zoe Christian Fellowship has been urging members of his Los Angeles area church to vote for the gay marriage ban.

"Marriage has always been defined as a man and a woman," Smith says.

For Smith, it's the most significant item on the November ballot.

"This issue is more important than who becomes president of our states to me and to our Christian believers," he says.

But many African-American supporters of gay marriage see it as a civil rights issue, with gays fighting familiar battles, Blackstone reports.

"We were denied the right to marry a person of another race," says Alice A. Huffman, president of the California chapter of the National Association For the Advancement of Colored People. "Any time government intervenes and tells you what you can or can't do, it's a denial of your rights."

The California NAACP is trying to mobilize voters against the gay marriage ban, but at a meeting this past week showed, it's not an easy sell.

"If you believe in God and the Bible, how do you reconcile same gender marriages with Genesis 1:27 and 28?" asked one Obama supporter who is still undecided on the gay marriage ban. The Bible verse referenced is a commandment that called on the first man and woman to "be fruitful" and multiply.

This same base won't react kindly when the moonbats try to trot out more of their anti-Christian legislation, I think........

Swallow the pill DUmmies....I know it's bitter.

The real issue here is why is the government in the marriage business?

Because the nuclear family is the foundation of ALL modern societies.  Either eliminate it completely or make it so it has some sort of societal good.

It's all about the benefits.  And looting the group health plans of insured nuclear families to pay for treatment of AIDS-infested fudgepackers.  Gay marriage really has jack shit to do with equality, it has to do with money.  Money for gays at the expense of straight families.

If the government forces me to wear a helmet riding my motorcycle due to having to possibly pick up my hospital costs if I crash, why doesn't the government ban bun darting as it is a proven way to pick up one of the most expensive diseases that taxpayers pick up 80%+ of the time?

I know 'm a racist, homophobe, bigot for asking that logical question.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
