First and foremost, thank you John McCain. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your heroic grace and honor in your military service to our country. Thank you for your service as a Senator where, much of the time, you aided the conservative cause. You made America a better place and fought the good fight. Much of the time.
Your time has past Senator McCain. John, don't go away mad. Just go away. We no longer need a "Maverick" who spoils and poisons our cause at a time of great weakness. You ran with your convictions and your convictions did not win the day. You did not pull the Dems or Indies to replace the true conservatives and thinking capitalist you lost or failed to inspire. It's time to retire your seat in the Senate as well. It's time to retire, with honor, and spend (I hope) many fruitful years with your family and friends.
It's true the Governor of the great State of Arizona is a democrat and will name your successor. It's also true that Arizona law requires that your replacement be a member of your own party and only serves until the next election cycle. (in this case 2010) I'm sorry to say I would trust such an appointee as much as you sir, to carry on as a "conservative in name truely". By 2010 after two years of Obama, I trust Arizona as well as America, to put right what we lost this one cycle. In every other respect Senator McCain, I wish you the best.
