 WASHINGTON, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Democrat Kay Hagan won the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina on Tuesday unseating Republican incumbent Elizabeth Dole, a huge victory for Democrats in their drive to strengthen their control of Congress, Fox News projected.

Hagan, a state senator, was declared the winner of a seat that has been in Republican hands for 35 years. The Southern state has voted Republican in the last seven presidential elections.

if chambliss wins, the dems would have to take all of the remaining contested republican seats to get to 60.

the dems may still need him to caucus with them if they get to 58 or 59.  they'll probably let him keep his chairmanship if he doesn't flip.

I had a bad feeling this afternoon. When I saw there was a little upturn in the market, sold some of my stock. My broker said that he had a guy come in and cash out everything---moving it to offshore banks. He said the guy is fairly astute financially.

It's getting scary out there.

wicker is still up in Mississippi, although coleman just went down 10K votes.  still very early in the count in MN.
