Why is Barack Obama in North Carolina today?  It’s a gravy state.  He won’t win the Tarheel State unless he’s already won Virginia.

There are three reasons:

1.  He is stupid.  He is trying a strategy of attacking everywhere in hopes that he can make a breakthrough somewhere, instead of concentrating on those states most likely to change.  Contrast that with McCain’s assaults in Ohio and Pennsylvania–one state he has to win, and one state whose victory makes it very hard for his opponent to win.

2.  He is overconfident.  Bill Clinton campaigned in 1996 in San Antonio and Bush campaigned in California in the last week of the campaign.  Both thought they had big leads.  Clinton’s lead wasn’t as big as he thought, and Bush’s evaporated entirely.  Both were not smart moves–especially Bush’s.  Even if you think you have a large lead, campaign where it is most likely to help.  In other words: he is stupid.

3.  He knows that he is in trouble in PA, and that he has to run the table.  If McCain wins the Keystone State Obama has to win all of the following to win (and assuming McCain also keeps Ohio, Indiana, and Florida–good assumptions if PA goes for him):  Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa, Virginia, and New Hampshire.  Adding North Carolina to the mix gives Obama another opportunity for a pickup.

He is in big time Trouble! Just like I am gonna be if I keep posting from work!  :uhsure:

The McCain voters are showing their hands here in my office.... lol.... he may even win MN, imagine that!  :-)

I'll believe THAT when I see it. The Metro area is so intensely Liberal that those ****tards elected Keith Ellison.....

The 'burbs are, however, another story. In 2004, they were 60% FOR Bush. (I'm for "bush", too!! )  :evillaugh:
