Final GOTV Push: No Time for Shyness

As Mark Steyn says, "Ignorance is O-bliss."

God help us all.

Actually, when I saw this, it reminded me of having a mark.  It discusses it more in the NIV than the King James.  I think we all know where I'm going.

... This is a lesson I learned in 2006. In September of that year, I wrote about how I'd always hated canvassing, to the point of praying as I walked up to every door that no one would be home. But I was learning to like it. In October, I wrote about how while I was now ok with canvassing, I still hated phonebanking. At that point, the most calls I could force myself to make in one sitting was 36, and I was hoping to get to 40 by the time of the election.

That's why it was such a surprise the day I found my desire to win was stronger than my fear, and made 204 phone calls. I gritted my teeth every time I dialed. But I did it. So I got myself a souvenir, to remind me I can push myself further than I thought I could go.

I have a friend, well maybe an acquaintance, but he is someone I've known for years, who had that Obama symbol tattooed on his arm.
"To those who cite the First Amendment as reason for excluding God from more and more of our institutions and everyday life, may I just say: The First Amendment of the Constitution was not written to protect the people of this country from religious values; it was written to protect religious values from government tyranny."
"If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." - Ronald Reagan

As the line from "Riders of the Purple Sage" goes, "The longer I live, the stranger life gets."

"Regrets... I've had a few..."

(No, this isn't my arm.)

Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of the many which make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority.
-Eric Hoffer, "The True Believer", 1951
