Time for Thursday
« on: October 30, 2008, 05:20:53 AM »
Morning folks. Ugh, I hate pms...I feel like doo doo, but the next two days involve an absolute cornucopia of Halloween fun so I press ahead. My youngest has a party at school today, my next oldest has that and a cookout tomorrow and then of course it's trick or treat time. Shit, I just realized we have carve the pumpkins too still! Guess we will do that tnight! Ack, nevermind...my oldest has basketball practice tnight :thatsright: Well, maybe a later in the night thing. :banghead:

My eyes are so dry since we've had to use the heat--I hate it! :bawl:

Other then that, nothing more then the usual for a midwestern housewife except I've decided to take a break from working out yesterday and today and I feel like a big blob for doing so...oh well, tomorrow am!

Decorations and punkins today for us.

The kids have two days off school here and the missus is leaving for a week in England this Sat. :(

Safe trip to her, asdf. My mum is a Brit(still).

2 days off, at Halloween? I'd go nuts...lol...I have so much running around to do today. Just realized I can't make the party without either picking up a kid or getting care for her. :bawl: So I gotta figure that out. ACK!!!! Well, I guess I better get off of here and do any chores in the house I need to do now--looks like I'll be running around most of the day.

Try and just enjoy as much as you can, asdf. Halloween is so fun imo, especially with kiddos.

We don't have trick or treaters in our neighborhood.... :(

I think the few kids that live here must go to other neighborhoods so they don't walk up dark drives. Most of the houses in here sit way off the street...we are about 250-300 yds through the woods. I wouldn't do it in the dark.

Have some laundry to do, finish some reports, get stuff ready for a closing tomorrow, and do some paperwork. And some work for the other half. He's a mechanical engineer....with the worst computer skills.  :banghead: Tried to explain how to do something to him last week when I was gone, he got mad and hung up.  :censored:
I think he purposely doesn't learn stuff...... :thatsright:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

Getting ready to go shopping today (got a gift card).  As the College Republicans are having a meeting tomorrow on Halloween, I'm going to buy some candy to lure more people into attending the meeting.   :uhsure:  And not the cheap kind, either.  One large bag of chocolate candy, and a large bag of the fruity kind (Starbursts  :-).

Also going to see if my costume has arrived yet.

And of course, HOMEWORK!  :(

I got up at 6 this morning thinking I had to be at work.  I dragged my butt to the computer and checked the clock.

I got to go back to bed for a few hours. :)

I met a friend for breakfast.  I am sitting here in my tie (and pants, shirt, etc  :lmao:) ready to venture to work at any minute now.

I managed not to get any food on my shirt!

Off to a good start!

October 31st is Nevada Day this year....yeah a state holiday for some folks and kids are out of school. The Police Roadblocks will be tonight to keep overtime costs down on the 31st...

That's all I know. Things are going very well here.

Woot! My Halloween costume is here.  And there's a problem:

It's a tad too big!  :(   :bawl:

I lost more weight than I'd anticipated (I gained some unwanted weight in August, and just now managed to shed it all plus some in the last month or so)... wig looks okay, and I put the boot covers on my boots... wonder if I can find someone to tailor the costume at the last minute?

Here's what I got:

Jane, the mother.  A friend of mine is going as Judy.  Couldn't convince my boyfriend to go as George OR allow his dog to be dressed up as Astro.   :lmao:  (as the costume site I ordered from finally put out two more Jetson's costumes).

No Halloween party tonight, or probably tomorrow for that matter.  I'm playing spooky boy and not lighting up the house, especially since I didn't realize the town is doing trick-or-treating TONIGHT.

And on that note, I just got a knock on the door from my next door neighbor.  Seems the house down from us (where there is construction going on behind us) has a mighty nice FIRE going on, sans permit or any sort of way to put it out.  I'm guessing the boss in charge of the construction/clearing just told a couple of the guys to "get rid" of the HUGE (50' long by 20' wide by 15' high) stack of wood they haven't hauled out in several weeks, so they just set fire to it and said hell with it.

I'm looking down the hill at the fire, and looking UP and the embers coming from it, and they're blowing my way.  One hopes that nothing catches between here and there, even though the police and fire departments are now on scene.

Oh, I love that!  :)

From year to year, I usually go back and forth between friendly and scary costumes.  This year is the friendly one, as my goal was to look for anything from my childhood days...cartoons, especially.

Ahh, I'm at work for just a little while longer tonight.

Thankfully my boss left about 15 minutes ago.  I got one up on her today.  I was telling her what I did yesterday to clean up somethings and the owner walked up and she said "I've never done that and I don't know how to pull that report."   :-)

Anywho, I have to finish a matrix deal when I get home tonight for algebra and email it to the professor.

Tomorrow's my dad's birthday and I'm taking him out to dinner.  I picked up a funny card for him yesterday at Hallmark.  I love Hallmark.  I bought 5 more fun cards to mail to friends and 2 candles.  The candles are pumpkin spice (yummy!) and clean linen.

So no big Halloween parties for me.  I would go trick or treating with my nephews, but I'm choosing to spend it with my dad instead (since he left his wife -again- a couple of weeks ago).  Maybe we can go to a movie too.

I am starting to think that every night is Halloween in this city.
