Julie McConnell, a long-time records clerk with the department's investigative services bureau, allegedly used the database -- called the Law Enforcement Automated Data System or LEADS -- to access information on Joe Wurzelbacher.

Navarre described McConnell as a "good employee" who has been with the department for 13 years.

 

"There was no ill intent here. There was no political purpose here. She was simply trying to do someone a favor," said Navarre, adding that the information McConnell provided was public record.

 

A disciplinary hearing is being scheduled for McConnell.

how interesting that its been admitted she was 'just doing someone a favor' ... so yeah, who was it?

and if it wasnt political, how did the news suddenly know the guy owed back taxes and was a single dad?

I heard Neal Boortz on FNC yesterday morning and the newsbabe asked him if Joe had a case.  Neal replied if Joe DOES sue, he's going to go to take the Ohio bar exam and represent him.  IOW, he's got a great case.
