29 degrees with a brisk wind outta the NW.  How long till Spring?

Leaving work early to day to go vote, and then help set up our church "Fall Festival"...hot dog roasting, marshmallow burning, etc.  Then the little yard-apes children get to go trunk-a-treating in the church parking lot.

edit:
What is everyone paying for a gallon of reg. gas these days...and where?
Dropped to $2.46 as of yesterday in mid-TN.  That's about $0.30 drop in a week.

Last I heard, some town in Texas was at $1.999. Gas is falling fairly quickly, but here, it's still hanging around $2.159. It might be less today.

At the Conoco by the mall in Norman yesterday, unleaded was $1.99.

It's a somewhat busy day.  Mostly I'm just doing some "busy" work.

I almost fell asleep at my desk like 10 minutes ago, so I got a cup of coffee.  Usually on Wednesdays I leave work at 1 to go to class then I take a nap when I get home.  This is my usual Wednesday nap time.

I've been productive, I dropped my car off for it's inspection.  AND I went and voted today too.  Only had to wait 10-15 minutes in line.  I went with two co-workers, for one it was his first time to vote and he's in his 40s (he moved here from Korea 28 years ago).

I'm done with class today.  Am waiting a little while before I go to do some shopping, as a particular drug store here has 5 12 packs of Dr. Pepper (or, if you hate it, 7UP, A & W and Sunkist are also on sale for the same price) for $11. :) Can't beat that, given the usual grocery store price of 2 for $8.

Someone who apparently hates me signed me up using my name, e-mail and cell # (I think I know who did it) for a bunch of junk e-mail/phone calls (as I NEVER give out my cell number, except to actual people), and I received 10 junk calls today and have about 30 junk e-mails to clean up.  I put the phone on the National Do Not Call registry (which DOES allow you to put your cell phone on there), so we'll see if that does anything.  If not, I guess I'll be filing a complaint with the FCC.  I called AT & T, and they said there is nothing they can do except change my number, which I'd rather not do. :banghead:

Quite a few states also have their own do-not-call registries.  Mine does and is usually responsive to complaints.  You can probably find it on your state website.  The FCC won't do jack sh*t except to tell you they received the complaint.   :banghead:

ACC.....once you get on those email lists....I swear they multiply. Just make sure you don't open them and if you have a spam file....send them straight there. There are days when I receive well over 100 spam emails. :censored:

I've been doing that (marking them as spam and sending them to the spam box.)  I've also tried to block specific e-mail addresses when I have time, but there is one in particular that keeps getting through the block (thanks a lot, Yahoo!  :bird: )

Don't block them unless you open them by mistake.....blocking them only creates more. For a while I was getting about 20 of those Nigerian scams a day!  :censored: They seem to have slowed down to about 2 or 3 a day, that are coming into my regular email.

Meant to tell you.....got a catalog and info on SCAD to send to my son.

Ohhh!   :o

I think what I'll do is just create a new e-mail account and abandon the plagued one.  I still have my GMail college account, which does much better in combating spam, but I always like to have 2 e-mail accounts at any one time: One for school/work, and the other for family/friends/etc.

SCAD really is a fantastic school, and surprisingly enough, seems to be more open to differing opinions than my own school (Armstrong) based on what their CR chairwoman told me.  I hope your son gives it a chance.  That college will REALLY look good on his resume. :)

The email I'm having the most problem with is my work one and I can't change it.....when I talked to them....they can't do anything about it either. It's happening to agents all over the country using the corporate email.

I don't know what he will end up doing. He's 27 and wants to do something with either animation or set design - the miniatures that are blown up in disaster movies or like Die Hard type situations. He also has a desire for mechanical engineering. He has about 80 hours from in the Navy....but they would mostly go toward electrical engineering....not what he wants to do. He just wants to get finished......

EEK!   :o  Maybe they ought to switch the work e-mail over to a GMail set-up.  It works for colleges, so employers ought to be able to use it too.  For example, my e-mail address doesn't say @GMail.com, but @armstrong.edu.

I can't blame him for wanting to be finished.  One of my coworkers is attending SCAD to become a sound engineer.  He started late, but will be done next year after turning 26.

Wish I could be done too, but that won't happen for a couple years.  :(
