RNC Responds To Pelosi (this is actually pretty good)
« on: October 28, 2008, 11:24:07 PM »
this would make a good argument in the closing week of the campaign.  "You bought the "change" argument from the democrats in 2006, and what did you get?  the most dysfunctional and unpopular congress in history, and a financial crisis.  Do you really want to risk that again in 2008"?

Quote
RNC Responds To Pelosi

(The Politico) The Republican National Committee is hitting back at Nancy Pelosi this afternoon, while still managing to sneak in a few digs at Barack Obama.

“From passing the largest tax increase in American history to trying to choke off funding for our nation’s troops, Nancy Pelosi has led the biggest spending and most unpopular Congress in American history, which Barack Obama has eagerly supported during his short time in the U.S. Senate,” RNC Spokeswoman Amber Wilkerson said in a statement.

"Just like Obama, Pelosi offered high-flying rhetoric about ‘change’ when Democrats took control of the House in 2006, but her record has demonstrated nothing but partisan wrangling and divisive maneuvering during the past two years.”

ive been waiting to see some enterprising RNCer come up with a Pelosi ad that shows her saying the obama win "is a 100 percent certainty" ..

these cocky lefties need to get scorched by the country. the Obama/Reid/Pelosi trifecta needs to be shoved down the public's throats for the next six days.... nonstop.

I guess Tennessee isn't one of those battleground states.  I haven't seen more than a small handfull of political ads from either side.  I saw most of them during the debates from the last two months.

Maybe I should turn the TV on once in a while?

. . . or it will certainly be shoved down our throats for at least the following two years.

part of me thinks this country needs a good dose of an Obama/Carter experiment again in order to educate all those who dont know what the hell is going on here.

nothing better than living thru it to indoctrinate a whole new generation of people..

and we come back strong in 2012 and clean them all out yet again. i know a lot of people on both sides of the aisle will be hurt in the economic fallout that hasnt even begun yet .. we havent really felt the bailout ripple yet either.

but im being honest. i think that education just needs to happen. people need to live thru it in order to learn the lessons.

yeah, but that's such a gamble.

how much of the economic mayhem that they could commit in 2 years would be uncorrectable?  once a federal law passes, it tends to become permanent.  and how many ruth bader ginsbergs will be see confirmed to the SCOTUS?  and there are some national security blunders that simply aren't recoverable, ever.

Clinton gave us the Assault weapons ban. It finally died in 2004. Hopefully any BAD legislation will have some sort of "sunset rule" built  into it.

well, ive been thinking about that.. we recovered from the stupidity that was Carter and did come back stronger because of it.

it seems every thirty years or so our public needs to be re-educated all over again.

at this point, the bottom is ... where? we're on the hook for a lot of crappolla as it is now because of the Dems. its unspooling but we have no idea how bad this is all going to be.

this guy is smarter and more effective than carter, it seems to me.  he could conceivably convince enough people that the solution to "The Crisis" is to, say, nationalize the healthcare and the mortgage industries, and to cut defense spending 25% and raise taxes on everyone making 30K in order to pay for it.  un-nationalizing something is probably impossibly difficult.  once created, getting rid of a federal agency is absolutely impossible.  the department of education, for example.  what the hell is it's function?  carter created the department of energy, by the way, in response to the OPEC embargo, and it's still there, too.  that's the federal agency the enforces the ban on off-shore drilling, I believe.

he, along with nancy and harry, could certainly rewrite the tax code for the foreseeable future to punish success, and discourage savings and investment.

When you have a 10 inch Johnson, it isn't that impressive when you only show one inch after foreplay is over.

This is a non-event.  The MSM (surprise!) is not even giving this page 7 coverage.

I get that all the time.  :uhsure: :-)

my original point, though, was that this could be a great line of attack to sway the remaining undecideds, which still appears to be 10% or more of the electorate.  "We bought 'change" from the democrats in '06, and we got screwed.   Are you sure you want to try that again?" should be mccain/palin's constant theme until election day.

the problem is, this entire financial debacle landed on GWs lap.. for better or worse, he gets to own it cause he was in the white house when it went down. he never stood up and explained the tangled mess that the Dems made to both sides - so, people are voting against Bush still.

BDS is still alive and kicking it would seem..

you're right.  and it seems that the biggest influence  in mccain's opinion poll numbers is the stock market.  when it goes up, his support appears to go up, and when it tanks, he tanks.  he was leading by 4 or 5 points before wall street went to hell.  so, he gets to own it, too.

yup.. it does seem like our guy doesnt want to show any anger, but at this point, i'd be relieved to see the old man spark up a bit. show a little fire.. and STOP walking across the aisle and start lighting some asses on fire with the truth for a change.

he needs to be blistering Reid and Pelosi with all that theyve done, not just keep calling them liberals.

ah, but the obama campaign was crafty about that in the early going.  their whispering campaign that mccain was an unstable geriatric hothead, and what happened to him in hanoi probably left him a bit unhinged has kept mccain wary of stomping some tall ass on the campaign trail.

you have to give it to them, they have run an awfully smart campaign in a lot of ways.
