Woman arrested after disrupting voting

A Jacksonville woman was arrested Friday after she struck Duval Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland in the back several times and disrupted voting at Duval's polling headquarters, according to police records.

Shari Wilder, 45, of the 600 block of Adams Street was taken into custody after she verbally harassed voters, threw objects and struck Holland at the election office at 105 Monroe St. E. around 5:30 p.m., records say.

Wilder was taken into custody shortly after leaving the election office on foot.

Holland described Wilder as incoherent and said her disruptions didn't appear to be politically motivated.

"She really didn't express anything other than her right to be there," he said. "She seemed coherent at times and then other times she would say things that weren't coherent."...
