Singer Jennifer Hudson's Mother, Brother Found Shot to Death, Nephew Missing

The mother and brother of Jennifer Hudson were found shot dead Friday at a South Side home, and police were looking for a missing child who is the nephew of the singer and Oscar-winning actress.

"We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," Hudson's personal publicist, Lisa Kasteler, said in a statement. "No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be the result of domestic abuse. The Cook County medical examiner's office said autopsies for Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were pending.

Police were talking to "a number of people in custody" on Friday night, said Bond, who declined to elaborate.

Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said a family member entered the home around 3 p.m. Friday, found a woman shot on the living room floor and left to notify authorities. Responding officers found a man shot in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.

She was a runner up on American Idol, was in Dream Girls, very pretty...and if I remember correctly Simon picked on her for being fat.

It is a good movie and she was great in it.  She got a well-deserved Oscar for her performance.

This is really sad, but I am pretty sure her roots are in the inner city, so you can expect this kind of thing.

Authorities say they've found the body of a young black boy in an SUV in the city's West Side, but there is no confirmation that the body inside the vehicle is that of Jennifer Hudson's missing nephew, seven-year-old Julian King.

MyFOXChicago is reporting that police located the SUV, which is believed to be the getaway vehicle driven by William Balfour, a suspect in the murders of the family members of Oscar-winning actress and singer Hudson.

Chicago police confirmed Monday that the vehicle is in fact the white 1994 Chevy Suburban that authorities had been searching for, as the license plates matched the Amber Alert issued in the search for King.

Fox just announced a few minutes ago that an autopsy is currently being done on the child to see if it's Hudson's nephew......not looking good.
